Barcelona strengthened their grip on top spot in LaLiga with a commanding 3-0 home victory over struggling Mallorca, moving four points clear at the summit.
Goals from Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Marc Bernal sealed a comfortable night for the league leaders at the Nou Camp.
Mallorca showed flashes of threat in the opening half, with Jan Virgili causing Jules Kounde problems down the flank, but the visitors were unable to turn promising moments into a breakthrough.
The deadlock was broken by Barcelona’s attacking pressure midway through the first half. Marcus Rashford’s right-footed effort was blocked, the rebound struck Dani Olmo, and Lewandowski was on hand to convert from close range.
The second half was largely one-way traffic and Barcelona effectively ended the contest shortly after the hour mark. Yamal created space 25 yards from goal before unleashing a superb strike into the right corner, his third goal in six appearances against Mallorca.
There was still time for further punishment as another teenager got on the scoresheet. Marc Bernal capped a swift counter-attack by bursting into the area and calmly slotting home his first goal for the club.
Hansi Flick’s side maintained their flawless home record in La Liga this season, making it 11 wins from 11 at the Nou Camp and a sixth clean sheet.
The win increases the pressure on title rivals Real Madrid, who face Valencia on Sunday. Barcelona next travel to Girona on Monday, 16 February, after hosting Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final on Thursday.
Mallorca remain just above the relegation zone and will look to bounce back when they host Real Betis on 15 February.
