Noel Gallagher and his second wife, Sara MacDonald, were married in 2011 but divorced in 2023. It has been reported the engagement ring at the center of this union is to be put up for auction in Belfast.

Noel Gallagher’s ex-wife’s engagement ring is set to be sold at auction. The 58-year-old Oasis star has been divorced twice, with his marriage to his second wife, Sara MacDonald, lasting from 2011 until 2023.

And now a report has suggested that music fans can purchase the ring that Noel gifted his then-girlfriend in 2010 as the engagement item is set to go up for auction – following their 2023 divorce. The ring is said to be worth £44,000 and was designed by Solange Azagury-Partridge.

The ring is said to be heading to Ross’s Auctioneers & Valuers in Belfast, where fans will be able to bid on the item. And while the opening bid is said to be at £18,000, it is expected that the item, which is arguably a part of British rock music history, could be sold for a much higher price.

A spokeswoman from the auction house told The Sun: “This ring is accompanied with the original receipt from Solange Azagury-Partridge dated 2010, purchased by Noel Gallagher for £44,000. When offered at auction, such a ring attracts not only jewellery buyers but also music enthusiasts and collectors of celebrity-owned pieces.”

They continued: “Noel Gallagher’s status as the creative force behind Oasis gives any personal object linked to him a strong narrative appeal. Ross’s Auctions are thrilled to have the opportunity to auction this one-of-a-kind ring owned by one of Britain’s most influential musicians.”

And the spokesperson added: “Alongside documentation supporting its ownership history, we are certain this ring will attract immense competitive bidding at auction.” The Mirror has contacted representatives of Noel Gallagher and Ross’s Auctioneers & Valuers for comment.

Noel and Sara first started their relationship at the beginning of the century, and they became engaged in 2010 and married the following year. Together they share two sons, Donovan Gallagher, who was born in 2007 and Sonny Gallagher, who was born in 2010.

While the couple had a decades-long romance, they revealed that the pandemic put strain on their love and they ultimately decided to split soon after.

Noel previously told Ireland’s Hot Press magazine: “It’s not uncommon for people to get to their fifties and go, well, you know…” Addressing the impact the pandemic had on his marriage, he continued: “The silver lining to a very dark cloud being that I actually had some f*****g time off during Covid.

“Although I f*****g hated lockdown, I got to finish off all these songs that I’d half-written and write a load of new ones. Felt fairly s***e both times, but thankfully no complications.”

While The Sun previously quoted him stating: “When you get to your mid-fifties, you do come to some kind of crossroads in your life. It’s not uncommon for people who have been in long-term relationships to go their separate ways in their fifties.

“I know a lot of people in the same boat as me and Sara. Particularly after the pandemic.” The marriage was his second to end in disaster.

Noel was previously married to former fashion PR guru Meg Mathews, with whom he shares daughter Anaïs Gallagher, 26. The couple met through Meg’s friend, MTV presenter Rebecca de Ruvo, and married in Las Vegas in 1997.

Noel and Meg split in 2000, and their divorce was finalised the following year – amid reports the Don’t Look Back In Anger singer had cheated on her with Sara. However, Noel later insisted he had not been unfaithful to his first wife.
