Three title contenders in the Croatian League extended their winning streaks in the 6th round with away victories.
Jadran Split and Jug had no problems in beating their rivals, while Mladost had to dig deep to earn three points in its first match in 2026.
Mladost visited Rijeka to face Primorje. A few months ago, the two teams met in the same pool in the 1st leg of the Croatian Cup quarterfinals, and the game ended in a 17:17 draw. However, since then, a few players have left Primorje, including the best scorer, Marko Radulovic, who joined Mladost. Therefore, some believed that Mladost would record an easy win.
The Zagreb-based side started strongly and seemed to have no problems. At halftime, Mladost had a 5-goal lead (11:6). However, Primorje didn’t give in and cut the deficit to only one goal late into the third quarter (12:13). Although the hosts managed to narrow the gap to one point on two occasions, they were unable to equalize. Throughout the remainder of the match, the teams exchanged goals. Konstantin Kharkov secured Mladost’s victory with a goal that made it 16:14, a minute and a half before the end of the game.
Two left-handed players posed the biggest threat to Primorje’s defense: Kharkov scored three, and Ivan Nagaev netted five goals. Marko Radulovic debuted for Mladost with two goals. Tin Brubnjak led Primorje’s attack with five goals.
Jadran Split defeated Solaris in Sibenik 15:10. Zvonimir Butic netted four, and Jerko Marinic Kragic scored three goals for the winning team.
Jug sank POSK in Split 16:7, with four goals from Marko Zuvela.
