The former Love Islander and recent winner of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins has shared her top beauty products for a youthful glow and gravity-defying lashes

When I sat down to speak with Gabby Allen about her amazing win on Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, I couldn’t help but notice how radiant she was on a gloomy Thursday morning in January. “It’s the Fenty tinted moisturiser,” she reveals, adding: “I don’t normally go for a dewy look, but it does make me look alive when I don’t feel it.”

Currently on sale for £22.50 from £32 at Sephora, the skin-quenching tinted moisturiser contains SPF – a necessity, even during winter – and claims to boost hydration, improve elasticity and visibly reduces pores and dark spots – and for Gabby, it did exactly that, leaving her with a beautiful glow.

Coming in 10 shades, she adds why she loves the Fenty tinted moisturiser: “It’s perfect for when, in these winter months, everyone’s [skin is] a little bit dull. I’ve just got that on now and a little bit of concealer, but I love it because it’s just quite glowy.

“It’s great now if you don’t want to have loads of make up on, but also in the summer. It’s something I think is a very good, [all-] seasonal product.”

While most people had the same experience with this moisturiser, marvelling at its results, some found it to be a bit too glowy, leaving them with more of a ‘greasy’ look. Another tinted moisturiser that may do the trick when it comes to smoothing pores, blurring blemishes and offering SPF protection is the Merit The Uniform Tinted Mineral Sunscreen, £34. I tried the product last year and was impressed – it is lightweight and not too dewy.

Gabby Allen is a fan of Medik8’s Daily Radiance Vitamin C, a day cream moisturiser and SPF hybrid which is designed to visibly revitalise and protect skin.

As most beauty fans know, in order to create a smooth and natural-looking base layer, our skin must also be well looked after as the canvas on which the product goes. And it seems Gabby has that perfected.

Her skincare routine – which she was supposedly stripped of when she went on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, alongside her other personal belongings and life luxuries, as part of the show – contains some renowned brands synonymous with smooth, youthful and luminous results.

“I love the Medik8 stuff, I just think it’s so nice. I use the Daily Radiance Vitamin C cream, £60, the Obagi eye gel [the Obagi Clinical Vitamin C Eye Brightener, £46.20] as well as the Medik8 Crystal retinal (£45), which I just think is great.” Reflecting on her skincare routine, the 34-year-old added, laughing: “I just feel like I’m trying so much to not age.”

Medik8 products have been scientifically formulated to help with noticeable signs of ageing as well as hydration, inflammation and more, and it seems fans of the brand can also attest its magic, with one user raving about the retinal cream: “Excellent products. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my overall skin hydration and now have a much more youthful appearance of my skin,” while another echoed: “The face cream feels soft and gentle on my skin and due to the retinol is helping my skin feel supple and glowing.”

Although the downside is its cost at £45, with one person noting: “It is great, but too expensive.” For those who want to try something a little more budget friendly, The Inkey List’s Advanced 0.2% Retinal Serum also contains retinal and costs £15.

When it comes to makeup, however, her look is classic and no nonsense – mascara, lip gloss and a bit of blusher (alongside the tinted moisturiser, of course).

“I love a NYX lip gloss. They’re affordable and I just love them,” she says. “They have so many different colours but I wear the brown coloured one.” While she didn’t disclose the exact one she uses, the Butter Lip Gloss in Butterscotch, £5.99 is a gorgeous shade that may be close.

The Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara is a viral hit thanks to its impressive results which deliver ‘full volume and limitless length’.

As for her lashes – about which she gets a lot of questions on her social media stories – Gabby swears by a £12.99 high street product that we all know and love on the Mirror beauty team: Maybelline’s Mascara Lash Sensational Sky High.

While some shoppers haven’t had success with this viral mascara, with one stating it ‘clumps my lashes and it flakes off later in the day’, Gabby sung its praises, calling it ‘unreal’ – and we can wholeheartedly agree. Read my review of the mascara here.

She mused: “I always get compliments on my eyelashes on all my stories. It’s the Maybelline Sky High. Unreal. So good and, once again, affordable. I literally go through them. What I like is it’s buildable. So, right now, because I’ve got hardly any make up on, it’s nice cause it gives you a fresh look, but then I’ll just build it across the day.

“If I was going out tonight on a date or something, I’d just whack on a bit of blusher and build up my lashes.”

The 33-year-old is not too scared of a coloured mascara, either, and shared: “I like to wear the burgundy one because I’ve got blue eyes and apparently that makes them stand out. I wear that on the bottom lashes sometimes. I’m also partial to brown mascara. I never used to be but Samie Elishi on my All Stars last year… I remember saying to her ‘have you got brown mascara on?’ She was like ‘yeah’ and then I went out and bought some afterwards.”
