The Hungarian League has continued with its 10th round of matches.
The highlight of the day was the clash between BVSC and Honved, which lived up to expectations. After a fierce battle, Honved secured victory in a penalty shootout. BVSC led for most of the game, entering the final quarter with a 10:8 advantage. However, Honved mounted a comeback, equalizing at 13:13 in the dying seconds, forcing the match into a penalty shootout. Ultimately, Honved emerged victorious, beating BVSC 17:16.
Bendeguz Ekler scored five goals for Honved (including the shootout). Lazar Vickovic, Nikola Moskov and Rolf Bencz added three each. David Tatrai led BVSC’s offense with six goals.
As usual, Ferencvaros recorded the most convincing win of the round. Dusan Mandic scored four goals to help the European champion beat Szeged 24:10. Vendel Vigvari, Vince Varga, and Marton Vamos added three goals each.
Before the 10th round, BVSC, Honved, and Vasas were tied in points and shared 3rd – 5th places.
Vasas benefited from the draw in the encounter between BVSC and Honved. Vasas defeated OSC 15:12. Now, it is a point ahead of Honved and two ahead of BVSC. Vasas led 13:8 before the final quarter. Early in the fourth period, it increased the margin to 14:8. OSC reduced the gap in the last four minutes. Lakatos, Djurdjic and Batori scored three goals each in a 15:12 win. OSC’s David Gal was unstoppable; he found the net 6 times.
Fifth-placed Szolnok defeated KSI 16:8, highlighted by four goals from Schmolcz, and closed the gap to only one point behind fourth-placed BVSC.
