Adam Peaty’s estranged mother Caroline has paid tribute to her husband Mark on their 34th wedding anniversary as their feud with the Ramsays rumbles on

Adam Peaty’s estranged mother Caroline has praised her husband Mark for being her ‘rock’ amid their ongoing family feud with their son and the Ramsays.

Paying tribute to her other half on their 34th wedding anniversary, she posted a series of snaps with Mark and wrote on social media: “Happy Wedding Anniversary to my lovely husband. 34 years married, 37 together. Thank you for always being there, and for being my rock. Love you, for always.”

The emotional post comes in the wake of the fallout between Adam, 31, and most members of his family in the run up to his Christmas wedding to Gordon Ramsay’s 26-year-old daughter Holly. Only his sister Bethany attended in the end and acted as one of Holly’s bridesmaids.

Adam and Holly recently had their honeymoon in Mauritius, where they were believed to be staying at a £6,000-a-night five-star resort paid for by celebrity chef Gordon, 59, and wife Tana, 51, as a wedding present.

Speaking publicly about the fall out for the first time, Gordon told the Daily Mail this week that the Ramsays “hadn’t done anything wrong” and branded the feud “self-inflicted”.

He claimed: “It’s just upsetting. It’s all self-inflicted from their side, because we’ve done nothing – none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance – we welcomed them. We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty. So to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously.”

Asked if he and Tana could ever see the situation being resolved, Gordon said: “I would like to go up to Nottingham [where Adam’s family live] with Tana and see them and draw a line in the sand.”

Addressing Adam’s family being ‘uninvited’ to the wedding. he added: “It was Adam and Holly’s wishes for them not to attend [their wedding] and so we had to respect that. There’s stuff they need to sort out as parents. That’s nothing to do with Tana and me. But we are very mindful we want to move on and allow Holly and Adam to continue starting their lives together.”

But Adam’s family have rubbished the Ramsay’s claims and said they are “outraged” at Gordon’s comments. A family source told The Sun: “The Ramsays did not treat Caroline like royalty at all – they treated her as though she was nothing. They ignored her existence, and not once did Mrs Ramsay return any of Caroline’s texts. The ‘get together’ lunch they promised on the day of the engagement never materialised either.

“We are outraged. Gordon is nothing but a big bully – and we hate bullies. How dare they – the sheer gall of them! You have pushed us too far!” In a furious rant, the relative went on to say that “if they had millions like the Beckhams” they would have been treated differently.

Back in January – two weeks after Adam walked down the aisle with Holly in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey – the Peatys reportedly told pals they had “given up hope” of a reconciliation.

A source told The Sun: “It’s been a really emotional time for them as a family. They’re coming to terms with what has happened and that Adam has picked his side. It’s dashed any hope of reconciliation in the near future. They’re keeping their heads down and trying to move on quietly. It’s clear Adam’s made his choice.”

Adam has kept largely quiet on what’s really happened behind the scenes, only speaking out to say “there are always two sides to every story”. He added: “To those of you who have reached out and shown kindness and understanding – thank you. It is deeply appreciated.”
