That wasn’t grass in Bad Bunny’s halftime show…
Remember all of that tall grass in Bad Bunny’s halftime show? Yeah, there were people inside of it.

Behind-the-scenes footage of the dancers setting up for the glorious performance shows several walking hedges wandering the field. You can’t make this stuff up. This is the kind of dedication I want in all my musical performances.
It also appears they referenced real businesses in the physical set, including LA’s Villa’s Tacos. Talk about paying attention to small details!
Silicon Valley on the screen
If this game’s given you the Bay Area fever, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite movies set in and around Silicon Valley.
The valley was nicknamed after the material used in computer hardware and is home to Google, HP, Netflix, Amazon, eBay and Facebook (now Meta). It’s therefore also been the set of several films and TV shows about the valley and, frequently, what happens when a thirst for innovation turns to greed.
It’s all but finished for the Patriots
And that is that. The Seahawks have one hand on the Lombardi Trophy after another touchdown.
Fittingly, it went to linebacker Uchenna Nwosu after the Seahawks monstered Drake Maye yet again and forced a fumble. Devon Witherspoon managed to knock the ball loose.
It has been a nightmare game for Maye, the golden boy.
Seattle fans are winding the party up. They can taste victory.
New England have responded by scoring a second touchdown, with Maye finding Rhamondre Stevenson in the end zone. That makes it 29-13 with about two minutes left. The clock is their biggest enemy at this point.
That’s an expensive night out
You reckon $30 for your car parking at the footy is a bit steep?
Check this out. Just a lazy $US400 ($570) to park your car near the Super Bowl (or you’d hope it’s close anyway).
And here’s another version of Super Bowl parking. Tipping that’s even pricier.
Why do so many Australians follow the NFL?
By Angus Delaney
It might be surprising to hear the NFL has 7.5 million Australian fans, but step inside the Hickens Hotel in Melbourne today and that figure seems believable.
Growing the NFL’s international fan base is one of the league’s top priorities, but Australia is already considered an engaged market.
There’s an NFL office and NFL Academy based in the Gold Coast, and Melbourne will host a match between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in 2026.

Fans at the Hickens Hotel, the site of the official Super Bowl LX watch party, say the sport has grown in popularity because games are easier to watch online, more Australians are competing in the NFL and the Super Bowl lands in the sweet spot before the AFL and NRL seasons.
“I’m a teacher, I get a lot of students who come through and the access to watch on your phone [has helped them become fans],” said Daniel Miller, a long-time Cincinnati Bengals fan.
“So they’re watching NBA, NFL all the time. I think the access has never been easier.”
Miller, who watched a match in the US about four months ago, is hoping to get tickets to the 2026 game at the MCG. He said the main difference between fan culture in the US and Australia was tailgating.
“So you got that three-hour block where they got tailgating stations all around the stadium, and they’re sanctioned. You’ve got everyone drinking, you’ve got toilets, you’ve got food, everything’s set up. And that’s what we lack in Melbourne … I think if the MCG allowed tailgating in the gardens around it, that would improve the experience of going to AFL games.”
Before the game Miller and his friend Shane Siegersma were both backing the Seahawks to win easily.
Seattle resist
Goal number five for Jason Myers – a Super Bowl record – and Seattle’s lead is back out to 15 points.
That field-goal came after Drake Maye had a pass intercepted in the midfield and it felt like the air came entirely out of the tyres for New England at that moment.
The Seahawks lead 22-7 with under six minutes left. And while that can be an eternity in the NFL, the Patriots will have to find something magical to come back and win.
Not impossible, but almost.

What does M.C. Hammer have to do with the Super Bowl?
It’s the final six minutes, that means it’s time to say goodbye to our musical guide to the Bay Area from sports editor, Zal.
Yes, this was always coming. Stop, Hammer Time. This song was everywhere, as (sadly for a little bit) were those horrific pants. A former bat boy for the Oakland Athletics MLB team, Stanley Burrell went on to become M.C. Hammer, and in 1990 came out with the song that sold millions upon millions. The only problem for Hammer was the money was going out faster than it was coming in. A second hit of this size never eventuated.
It’s all Dickson
OK, have we mentioned Michael Dickson is having a whale of a game for Seattle?

The Sydney-raised punter just landed another kick to within a yard of the New England goal line. Those kicks are particularly valuable because it means the opposition has to try to drive the entire field to score, which is extremely difficult.
Dickson has punted five times today for 283 yards, for an average of 45.6 yards, and should he get a ring in a little while, he’ll have earned it.
Latin block party: The Easter eggs you missed in the half-time show
A block party in fields of sugar cane as reggaeton and salsa take over.
It’s the land of the white plastic chairs. The land of asado (Latin barbeque), of the bodega store, of plastic tables where you play dominoes, of stalls selling Piraguas (ice topped with coloured syrups), of perreo (twerking), long-acrylic nails being cured under UV lamps and delicious dancing.
It is not the land of illegal people.

Women’s edges are laid with gel and their lips are outlined with dark brown lip liner. They wear large gold hoops with gold chains. Their hair is thick, curly and their outfits are made to accommodate the sway of their hips.
Emerging from a pink casita (the little house), Mr Bunny passes an array of notable guests dancing. The line-up includes Colombian superstar Karol G, actor Pedrol Pascal, influencer Alix Earle (this one is a bit random), actress Jessica Alba and rappers Cardi B and Young Miko – with more to be uncovered.

The Puerto Rican flag hoisted onto Bad Bunny’s shoulders shone in a light blue – a symbol of independence and sovereignty – instead of its normal dark blue.
A post by writer Rohan Nadkarni said that sources close to Bad Bunny’s performance said the wedding during the show was real. “They invited Bad Bunny to their wedding and in turn he invited them to get married during his performance” the post says.
To finish the show, Benito raises the football he carried periodically throughout the performance to the camera. Behind him is the lush, tropical landscape of his home, Puerto Rico, drums, dancers, flags and fireworks. “Together, we are America,” is inscribed into the football.
