The feud between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents David and Victoria has doubtless become one of the biggest showbiz fallouts of recent times and at the TV Choice Awards, some of our favourite celebs were not afraid to weigh in on the family’s war

The ongoing feud between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents David and Victoria has dominated headlines ever since the aspiring chef, 26, posted a scathing statement on Instagram in which he claimed his mother had “hijacked” his first dance at his wedding to Nicola Peltz in 2022.

With no sign of a reconciliation between the family happening anytime soon, multiple celebs waded into the drama while at the TV Choice Awards, telling The Mirror which team they were on.

Paul Sinha, best known as the The Sinnerman on The Chase, was one of the first to weigh in, and he told us: “As David didn’t respond to the letters I wrote to him in the 1990s, I am very much Team Brooklyn now,” and his co-star Anne Hegerty, better known to viewers as the Governess, agreed with him.

She said: “I am Team Brooklyn if only because I tend to be kind of cynical about families. I tend to be team Harry and Megan for the same reason.” Despite this, fellow Chaser Jenny Ryan, also known as The Vixen, had a different take entirely as she joked: “I’ve been to some weird weddings, so I’m Team Beckhams.”

All-round TV legend and former EastEnders star Brian Conley simply said: “I think I’m Beckham,” but Minah Shannon, who shot to fame on The Traitors, proudly declared: “I’m Team Brooklyn!” However, her pal from Claudia Winkelman’s hit BBC series, Alexander Dragonetti, simply quipped: “What would you recommend?”

Former Hollyoaks actress Sophie Austin could only pin her opinion based on Victoria’s career as a member of the Spice Girls. She said: “Do you know what? I don’t know much about it. I love the Spice Girls,” as her partner, former X Factor winner Shayne Ward, remained even more neural responded: “Best answer! Do you know what? We’re only human.”

Former Shameless actress Sally Carman, now best known to fans of Coronation Street for her role as Abi Webster, was completely confident on where she stood on the matter. She said: “Team Beckham! You don’t diss your mama. Family is family.”

Brooklyn’s initial statement went viral as soon as he released it onto his Instagram page towards the end of last month. It read: “My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song.

“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.

“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”
