TEHRAN — Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Monday praised the Iranian nation’s steadfastness and unity, saying the annual 22nd of Bahman rallies continue to demonstrate the country’s power, independence, and ability to thwart foreign pressure.
In a televised message addressed to the Iranian people on the occasion of the anniversary marking the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Leader described the 22nd of Bahman (11th of February) as the day when “the power and dignity of the Iranian nation are unveiled every year.”
“This nation, by the grace of God, is motivated, resolute, steadfast, grateful, and fully aware of what serves its interests and what harms them,” he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei recalled that the Islamic Revolution allowed Iranians to reclaim their country from foreign interference, stressing that although outside powers have spent decades attempting to restore the prerevolutionary order, their efforts have repeatedly failed.
“Throughout these years, foreigners have continuously sought to restore the previous situation,” he said. “However, the Iranian nation has stood firm, and the manifestation of this steadfastness is the 22nd of Bahman.”
He noted that the scale and consistency of the anniversary rallies are without parallel, pointing out that few nations in the world mark their independence or national day with such massive participation, year after year, across the entire country.
“Nowhere else do we see a nation that commemorates its independence in this way, with such presence and vitality, after so many years,” he said.
According to the Leader, the nationwide turnout sends a clear message to those who harbor ambitions toward Iran and its interests. By taking to the streets, he said, the Iranian people force hostile actors to retreat and abandon their calculations.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that true national power does not rest primarily on military hardware, but on the will, determination, and unity of the people. “National power is tied more to the determination of nations and the steadfastness of people than to missiles and aircraft,” he said.
He called on Iranians to continue demonstrating resilience across all arenas, warning that as long as adversaries retain hope of pressuring or weakening Iran, the country remains exposed to harassment and harm. “The enemy must be driven to despair,” he stressed.
According to Ayatollah Khamenei, unity, clarity of purpose, strong morale, and resistance to temptation are the foundations of national power and the means by which hostile plots are neutralized.
He also expressed confidence in Iran’s younger generation, saying the country’s youth will continue to advance in science, ethics, action, and both material and spiritual development. The 22nd of Bahman, he said, reflects these achievements, as people from all walks of life come together to express solidarity and reaffirm their loyalty to the Islamic Republic.
“Everyone comes out, chants slogans, speaks truths, and declares unity,” he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei concluded by expressing hope that this year’s anniversary would further enhance the stature of the Iranian nation and underscore its strength in the face of external pressure.
“God willing, this 22nd of Bahman, like those of past years, will magnify the grandeur of the Iranian nation,” he said, adding that the continued presence of the people would once again affirm Iran’s independence and resolve.
