Silent Witness cast for season 29, episodes 3 and 4 called Creekwood after The Enemy Within was pulled from the schedules in last minute cancellation
Silent Witness season 29 returned to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this week but the episodes that aired were not the ones viewers were expecting.
This week the episodes billed to air on Monday, February 9 and Tuesday, February 10 were called The Enemy Within, which revolves around the forensics team investigating a fatal stabbing that seems to be racially motivated. However, they were replaced with next week’s storyline Creekwood, starring guest actors Lydia Wilson, Cat Simmons, Megan Cusack and Mark Stobbart.
The schedule change is believed to be because of a horrific incident that took place in Birmingham over the weekend. A BBC spokesman told TV Guide: “Due to the attack in Birmingham over the weekend, this week’s episodes of Silent Witness will not transmit as planned and instead they have been replaced with two episodes from later on in the series.”
The BBC has reshuffled the schedule so the storyline that plays out this week is Creekwood, which sees Dr Nikki Alexander played by Emilia Fox, and Jack, played by David Caves, examine the body of an elderly man found dead on a construction site.
The investigating officer, DI Ashley Moss, quickly gets a lead when she follows two homeless people who may have seen what happened. But the post mortem offers up further clues, and as more evidence is gathered, the team find themselves looking into the mental health system both past and present.
Guest stars from Creekwood include Call the Midwife’s Megan Cusack, The Bill’s Cat Simmons, Ripper Street’s Lydia Wilson, Mark Stobbart, known for The Long Shadow, Protection’s Nichola Burley and Maryland’s Yasmin Davies.
