A celebrity, in his 50s, has been arrested over allegations of attempted rape and sexual assault. The alleged victim is said to have been in her 20s at the time of the alleged incident.
The man was arrested and interviewed at a police station in North London today. He is being investigated on suspicion of attempted rape, exposure and sexual assault by touching, relating to an alleged incident in London in 2007. He has since been released on bail and the investigation continues. He has not been named but is said to be a celebrity, according to the Daily Mail .
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, exposure and sexual assault by touching on Tuesday, 10 February. He was interviewed by detectives. This arrest relates to a sexual offence, which is alleged to have taken place in 2007 in London against a woman in her 20s.
“The man was bailed pending further enquiries and the Met’s investigation continues.”
