Hands Down, the CNP Laboratory Propolis Lipcerin Is the Best Lip Mask I’ve Ever Used—Review

Sunscreen. Mouthwash. Lip balm. Three of my favorite—and most-used—beauty products. I can’t live without them and constantly restock them.

And right now, because it’s colder than you-know-what outside, I’m especially invested in the latter because my dry, chapped lips can’t catch a break. They’re rough, peeling, and overall just…uncomfy. Sadly, in extremely low temperatures like these (single digits in New York City), a traditional lip balm isn’t cutting it. Instead, I’ve been using the CNP Laboratory Propolis Lipcerin, which is super-thick lip mask.

When I say thick, I really do mean thick. It’s rich like an ointment, but melts down like butter the second it hits lips. It’s made made of butter, but it is formulated with earthy, antioxidant-rich manuka honey and anti-inflammatory, resin-like propolis extract.

It’s cute, tiny tube shape and twist-top makes it easy to toss into any bag and use on the go, but I prefer to use it at night, right before I hop into bed. I use about one full spin, which results in an earthworm-like dollop that oozes out of the top. I don’t like using it directly on my mouth (I’m a germaphobe), so I’ll do a quick swipe with my (freshly washed) finger across its opening and then press the goo onto my lips.

The result is a seriously soft, smooth, and hydrated look and feel that lasts long after my 6 a.m. alarm. Impressive!

You can find the CNP Laboratory Propolis Lipcerin, along with other editor-loved products, in the February Allure Beauty Box.
