Penn State vs. Washington prediction: College hoops odds, bets

Sports handicappers constantly try to find betting value and that can present itself in any size, shape or form.

When the calendar approaches mid-February, that usually comes in the way of isolating teams that have started playing well or buying the dip of an awful team.

I feel like the Washington Huskies fit the criteria of a basketball team that has demonstrated it has turned the corner.

Washington is just 4-9 in Big Ten play but it is 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in its past six games and 8-2 ATS in its past 10.

The point spread is essentially a gauge of a team’s performance against perception.

The Huskies host Penn State on Wednesday as an 11.5-point favorite with a total of 154.5 points.

The Nittany Lions are coming off a crushing home loss Sunday, blowing a double-digit lead in the second half against USC.

Now they hit the road, and they have lost all six conference road games (2-4 ATS).

This has all the makings of a strong showing from Washington, coming off back-to-back losses and looking to get back in the win column against an inferior opponent.

Betting on College Basketball?

With a late tip on the West Coast, this game also won’t do Penn State any favors for the players’ body clocks.

I have a 95-81-2 ATS record in this Post sports section, pending a Tuesday play.

My next pick is Washington -11.5 points against Penn State (-110, FanDuel Sportsbook).
