وقالت شبكة أطباء السودان، إن العبارة التي كان على متنها 27 شخصًا على الأقل، بينهم نساء وأطفال، غرقت في ولاية نهر النيل الواقعة شمال البلاد.
وأشارت الشبكة إلى انتشال 15 جثة على الأقل، بينما لا يزال السكان وفرق الإنقاذ يبحثون عن 6 ضحايا آخرين على الأقل، مبينة أن 6 أشخاص نجوا من الكارثة.
