Hrithik Roshan Is Not Part Of Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’ Amid Ranveer Singh’s Exit, ‘Not Approached..’

Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film, Don 3 has been creating a lot of drama lately. For those who do not know, the noise around the same began after the Dhurandhar star, Ranveer Singh walked out of the film. This sparked a series of conversations and allegations online. While some sources confirmed that Ranveer has to pay Rs. 40 crore to the production, others revealed that Hrithik Roshan has replaced him in the film. Well, know the truth about Hrithik’s entry in the movie.

Has Hrithik Roshan replaced Ranveer Singh in Don 3?

Since a few days, multiple reports have been making rounds on the social media around Ranveer Singh and the film, Don 3. However, what grabbed attention was that the Gully Boy actor had recently accused the makers of approaching Hrithik Roshan behind his back. Allegedly, the makers were unsure because Ranveer’s films weren’t performing well; however after Dhurandhar‘s success, the makers of Don 3 decided to stick with Ranveer. Well, now a source close to the War actor revealed the truth to the Hindustan Times and shared:

“It is not true, Hrithik was not approached to star in Don 3 after Ranveer came on board.”

Ranveer Singh was announced as the lead of Don 3 in 2023

For those who do not know, Ranveer Singh was announced as the lead actor of the upcoming film, Don 3 in 2023. Reportedly, the makers had shared a teaser on social media, which featured Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon as the leads. In mid-2025, a source had confirmed to the Hindustan Times that Farhan Akhtar had started looking for locations to start the shoot; however, it didn’t. The source had shared:

“Farhan was scouting locations actively in 2025, from the last week of August till early September.”

Later, after Dhurandhar hit the theatres, Ranveer Singh walked out of the film, Don 3. Reportedly, he even pre-poned the shoot of his next film, Pralay. According to a recent report by the Variety, Excel Entertainment is now seeking Rs. 40 crore from Ranveer Singh. However, recently a source close to Ranveer told BollywoodHungama that the actor is not interested in paying the huge amount as he didn’t receive a single penny from them. The source was quoted as saying:

“The bone of contention was that Ranveer Singh should pay Rs. 40 crores to Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani for the losses incurred in the pre-production of the film. Ranveer argued that he was not liable to pay as he had not taken a single paisa from the producers. Hence, paying back such a hefty amount was out of the question.”

The Don franchise is one of the most loved action thriller films in India. It began in 1978, with Amitabh Bachchan starting the franchise with a bang. It became one of the most iconic films of Hindi cinema. Later, Farhan Akhtar rebooted the series in 2006 with Don, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. After the success of the first film, Farhan Akhtar and Shah Rukh Khan returned with Don 2, which was released in 2011. 

More than a decade later, Don 3 was officially announced with Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon. However, it is now on a hold because of the rift between Dhurandhar star and Excel Entertainment. It is worth mentioning that when things escalated between the two parties, the Producers Guild of India held a meeting on February 7, 2026, to solve the differences. As of now, there is no new update on Don 3.
