The 34-year-old singer quit Little Mix back in 2020 but she has revealed another member wanted out before Covid 19 hit
Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson stunned fans when she quit the legendary girl group for mental health reasons – but it turns out she wasn’t the first band member who wanted out.
The 34-year-old singer opens up about her whirlwind rise to fame in a new Prime Video documentary, titled Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix.
The six-part docuseries primarily focuses on Jesy’s recent pregnancy journey, before the birth of twin daughters Ocean Jade and Story Monroe in May 2025.
In episode five of the doc, Jesy claims the group discovered that one singer was ready to quit in an unexpected meeting. She said: “When we were called into a meeting it’s either something amazing or something really bad, and I just had this gut feeling that it wasn’t going to be good.”
Jesy refused to share which band member wanted to quit, but it doesn’t sound like it was Jade Thirlwall.
She continued: “One of the girls had decided that they didn’t want to be in the band anymore and I remember feeling like my whole world had just fell apart. It was just a really sad day and me and Jade really cried.”
Although she would later quit for her own wellbeing, Jesy admitted that she didn’t empathise with her fellow bandmate at the time because it was such a shock discovery.
The band then began planning their final tour.
“After that we were like, ‘Right we now need to put in a plan of what’s now going to happen’ and so we planned our last tour, all the dates were set in for that, and that was it really. That was the last thing we were gonna do together as a band,” Jesy shared.

But the COVID 19 lockdown interrupted all plans as the girls were forced apart.
Jesy added: “Lockdown prolonged everything so we wasn’t allowed to do the tour when we were supposed to, unfortunately that is then when everything got messy.”
When Little Mix finally returned to the spotlight, Jesy struggled to cope with being back on stage and brutal comments from online trolls.
Her mental health soon deteriorated, which prompted her to quit the band for her wellbeing.
