BBC Breakfast presenter Emma Vardy has announced the birth of her second child with husband Aaron Adams, and shared some sweet first snaps of the newborn

A star of BBC Breakfast has welcomed their second child into the world. Emma Vardy, 44, revealed in October that she was expecting her second child with husband Aaron Adams.

The pair welcomed son Jago back in 2023 – a year after they tied the knot in Northern Ireland. Emma announced the arrival of their baby son Rocky Beau, and shared some adorable first photos of the newborn.

The presenter was pictured beaming in her hospital bed while holding the little one. She captioned the photo: “Rocky Beau 09.02.26. Finally news of the most beautiful story I can report.

“Born in water. We are more in love than you can imagine. A huge amount of gratitude and appreciation for staff at the midwife led Manchester Birth centre at Wythenshawe. More on this in a moment.”

She later expressed her thanks to the midwives at Manchester Birth Centre for their support. She said: “So I just thought I should put it on record before my brain gets addled. I’m just so grateful to all the midwives who made this all possible with the way it went.

“And for listening to me and helping me make the right decisions. It’s so unpredictable, birth. And there’s decisions you’ve got to make for yourself which are quite scary.”

She added: “But I feel very lucky to have had some amazing midwives who were amazing help. Just complete strangers who suddenly become your angels. What an amazing job they do. We’re so grateful aren’t we,” she remarked, before adding: “Daddy’s going to be back soon. I think I hear someone coming.”

The presenter was surprised by her husband Aaron bearing a bouquet of flowers, exclaiming: “Look at this. Oh wow. I am a lucky girl.”

Emma left the BBC show for maternity leave at the beginning of this month. During her final broadcast on February 1, she told viewers: “Right well, that’s nearly it for us today. And my last show before mat leave! Bye!”

She gave birth to her first child, a son, Jago Finn in August 2023. The presenter penned: “Presenting my best breaking news ever. Baby boy Jago Fionn is here At just a few hours old, playing a little camera shy.
