Lidl has just announced the launch of its brand new ‘trolley bag’ in time for London Fashion Week and we know how you can get your hands on one for free before it goes viral

You might remember back in 2024 that one of the most unexpected viral fashion moments of the year hailed from budget-friendly supermarket Lidl, when it launched its croissant bag in collaboration with designer Nik Bentel. And now the two are joining forces again and we’re already predicting another viral sell out sensation.

The latest collaboration is the Lidl x Nik Bentel Trolley Bag; a handbag inspired by the supermarket’s shopping trolleys. It features a detachable chain strap, trolley coin fob and a dust bag, and is designed to look just like the front part of a shopping trolley, complete with wire frame and rounded Lidl-branded handle.

The Lidl x Nik Bentel Trolley Bag will be up for grabs on Thursday February 26 via Nik Bentel’s website, where fans can enter a ballot to be in with a chance of winning on for themselves. You can already sign up to be notified when the ballot opens, and once it’s available you can enter via your email address, although it’s worth noting that not everyone who enters will receive one of the limited edition bags.

For London-based style seekers, you can head to the Lidl Fresh Drop on February 20 and 21 at 19 D’Arblay Street, W1F 8ED, between 09:30am and 5pm. The grocery-inspired LFW event gives a limited number of attendees the chance to nab one for themselves by trying their luck on a specially created fruit machine.

The best part? The bag will be completely free to those lucky enough to win it either via the fruit machine or via the ballot, so you won’t need to pay a penny to get your hands on what’s sure to be another iconic piece of viral fashion history.

Nik Bentel, Founder of Nik Bentel Studios, said: “We couldn’t resist the chance to team up with Lidl again – there’s something so exciting about turning the most unexpected items into fashion statements – and it’s our bag through and through (pardon the pun). The Lidl ‘Trolley Bag’ is our latest twist on the everyday food shop experience and is the ultimate shopping sidekick. It’s playful, practical and made to stand out – whether heading out to the runway or to run errands.”

Don’t forget to register your interest via Nik Bentel’s website now, so you can be one of the first to enter the ballot when it launches on February 26.
