Anaswara Rajan is becoming a familiar face in the Telugu film circuit. Last year, her Tollywood debut, Champion, was a setback. But she’s not fretting over it and has moved on quickly. The actress is looking forward to a bright journey ahead.
Anaswara snaps new film
Even before her second movie hits the screens, producer Dheeraj Mogileni (he is a notable name in the industry after last year’s The Girlfriend with Rashmika Mandanna) has snapped her up for a new project. This time, she will be paired with Sangeeth Sobhan, the breakout star from MAD and MAD Square. The youthful entertainer is directed by Surya Pratap, who shot to fame with the film, Kumari 21F. Anaswara’s second outing is going to be Itlu Arjuna, the first production venture from director Venky Kudumula of Bheeshma fame. In this upcoming drama, she stars alongside a fresh debutant named Aniesh.
Debuted at the age of 15
Clearly, a rocky start hasn’t deterred Anaswara. Her first Telugu film, Champion, was a flop. “There is a distinct magic in period dramas; they offer a window into worlds we can no longer inhabit. Stepping into the costumes of that era to become Chandrakala (her name in the film) was a highlight for me. It felt less like playing a part and more like experiencing a lost moment in time,” Anaswara said in her recent interview in December 2025. The actress was 15 when she debuted with the Malayalam movie Udaharanam Sujatha in 2017. Her first leading role was in Thanneer Mathan Dinangal two years later. Anaswara played a blind sculptor in Mohanlal’s Neru, in 2023. It is one of the most acclaimed roles in her career. Most recently, she was seen in the Tamil movie With Love, a teen rom-com. Young male actors like Abishan Jeevinth, Roshan Meka and Sangeeth have been her co-stars.
