Reality star and dad-of-two, Gaz Beadle, is back on Geordie Shore after almost a decade away, however his return hasn’t gone down well with everyone
Gaz Beadle has defended his decision to return to Geordie Shore after backlash from fans. The reality star, 34, found fame 15 years ago on the smash-hit show filmed in Newcastle, which made stars out of celebrities, including Charlotte Crosby and Holly Hagan.
Some viewers are delighted that Gaz has joined the show again and welcomed his return. However, one irate fan slammed the dad-of-two and branded him “embarrassing” and “skint” for getting back in the saddle.
Taking to Snapchat, Gaz wasn’t having any of it and hit out at the troll, claiming he was far from ‘desperate’ as has been suggested by some on social media. Pointing out how lucrative TV work is, he replied: “Hahahaha, I love it when people put this… think you forgot TV is a job.”

Boldly comparing himself to Premiership footballers, he continued: “Is Henry skint because he does the football pundit[try] or Micah Richards doing TV commercials?
“It’s a job. If they wanna pay me to go on holiday with my mates for a few weeks for ££, you better believe I’m doing it. More money in the pot.”
Gaz shot to fame on the show in 2011 and quickly earned a reputation for being one of the wildest personalities on the show. His on/off relationship with Charlotte Crosby became one of the series’ major storylines. However, despite an obvious attraction, the chaotic couple never settled together and would frequently pop in and out of their romance in between dating other people.
They did try hard to keep their romance alive; however, Gaz’s “parsnip” grew curious and overruled his head in 2016 when he slept with Jemma Lucy, as well as having a threesome during shooting Ex on the Beach. He left Geordie Shore eight years ago, before deciding to return to filming in 2025.
Gaz, who now shares two kids, Chester and Primrose, with ex-wife Emma McVey, whom he split from in October 2023, said he wasn’t sure if he’d ever return to the show after leaving in 2017, but now wants to show viewers the “real” him.
He told The Sun: “I had a lot of conversations with producers about coming back because I wanted to make sure it was right for me. And then after the conversations, I was like, ‘look, I’ve not going on there getting smashed every night, because I don’t do that in real life so I’m not gonna do it there.”
Gaz continued: “As the kids are getting older, and when I heard how much the show had changed, is when I decided to come back.”
The Geordie is now in a relationship with nurse and influencer Maia Ellen, but insists he won’t be exposing his relationship to reality TV.
