Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has proved to be a blockbuster. The movie featured five top actors, whose acting left the audience’s jaws dropped. Made on a budget of Rs. 250 crore, Dhurandhar earned more than Rs. 1000 crore at the domestic box office alone. Now, the movie is roaring on Netflix, and the audience is not able to get over this movie, just yet.
After the movie was released back in December 2025, it was revealed that the movie’s 2nd part would be released in March 2026. The teaser, which is similar to the post-credit scene of the movie, will be released on March 19, 2026. Excitement about Dhurandhar 2 is up, and now, people have been wondering whether the hype would be worth it and whether Part 2 will hit the right chords.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is facing troubles

For the unversed, Part 2 will take us through the journey of ‘Hamza’ (Ranveer Singh), who is a spy of India, and ended up killing the king of Lyari, Rehman Dakait. Since the movie has been announced, it’s facing a back-to-back issue. First, it was reported that Ranveer Singh was playing the role of Major Mohit Sharma, and his family came forward with legal cases, claiming that the makers didn’t take any permission from them.

Well, later it was claimed that Ranveer’s role was not in any way about Major Mohit Sharma, and rather it was not even a biopic, but was influenced by real-life events. Part 2 of the movie reportedly has been made with a budget of Rs. 0, as reports claimed that the movie was already shot, and Aditya Dhar wanted to release the movie at one go, but as it was lengthy, it was decided to be released in two parts. Now, as the movie’s Part 2 is about to be released soon, it has been facing challenges back-to-back.
BMC wants Aditya Dhar’s B26’s permanent blacklisting

Now, with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, nearing its release, several issues came on the way. Recently, BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) has been infuriated by Aditya Dhar’s movie, and demanded a permanent blacklisting of Aditya Dhar’s B26 Studio. If the reports are to be believed, the movie’s Part 2 was being shot in South Mumbai, and recently, without any permission, a shooting happened on the terrace of a building, while using two generator vans. This led BMC to claim Rs. 1 lakh as a fine.

A letter was sent to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) of Zone 1, the A ward office, asking for the penalty in this case of the makers allegedly violating the safety rules, and apart from that, a request was also made to BMC to ask for permanent blacklisting of B26.

Reportedly, the production team earlier paid Rs. 25K for safety rules and to ask permission, but they still chose to break the rules, which has now been forfeited. If the reports are to be believed, the DMC approved the civic body’s request to blacklist the production company. And following this, two applicants were blocked from permissions with the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development Corporation Limited, as reported. As per a report by the Indian Express, a BMC Official said:
“Having received the clearances, the three applicants – Komal Pokhriyal, Nasir Khan and B62 production house – can no longer apply for shoot permissions with the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development CL website. On Tuesday, we will also be issuing notices to these three applicants informing of the action, and a copy of the notice will also be shared with the Maharashtra film cell and BMC’s Business Cell head.”
What are the other issues Dhurandhar: The Revenge faced?
Earlier, Dhurandhar 2 faced a legal issue with the unauthorised drone usage during filming. Reportedly, it was a high security area, and with the drone usage for filming, it was reported that the location manager actually didn’t secured necessary permission for the drone operation. This particular case adds to the ongoing B26’s demand to permanently block the studio.

Apart from that, the team asked for permission for a shooting on February 7-8, 2026, between Modi Street and Perin Nariman Street. Reportedly, they were asked not to use any crackers and flammable materials. But reports claimed that the team violated the rules there as well. On February 13-14, it was also reportedly claimed that permission had been asked for another shooting, and it was promised that no flammable materials would be used. However, past midnight, the authorities got a call about the makers violating the rules, and instantly, the cops reached there to find five lit torches. After this, the team reported that the scenes of fire would be shown using VFX.

Earlier, the teaser also left people disappointed, given that the makers released the teaser, and people were excited to get a glimpse of what could happen in Part 2. However, the teaser was actually the post-credit scene that was shown in Part 1, and this actually left people disappointed.
