Legal trouble has once again come knocking for Ameesha Patel, after a Moradabad court issued a non-bailable warrant against the actor in connection with a 2017 event dispute. The order was passed after she allegedly failed to appear before the court despite being served multiple summons.
As reported by Free Press Journal, the case relates to a complaint filed by event organiser Pawan Verma. He claimed that Ameesha had been booked to perform at a wedding on November 16, 2017, and was paid an advance of Rs 14.50 lakh. Arrangements for her stay were also made at a hotel on Delhi Road in Moradabad.
Reflecting on her journey, Priyanka said, “I really do believe that I stand on the shoulders of amazing artists and talents that came before me. Aishwarya Rai, an icon when she was working in Hollywood, Irrfan Khan, of course, Mindy Kaling. And I was able to push the door open and stand up for what I believe in because they did what they did.” She credited their global breakthroughs for allowing her to confidently claim her own space in the industry.

Reacting to the recent development, Ameesha’s lawyer Abhishek Sharma said the matter was already settled years ago. He maintained that the entire amount had been repaid as per the agreement and claimed the complaint was being misused. The counsel also expressed confidence that the actor would appear before the court and clarify her position.
