Veteran actress, Pravina Deshpande breathed her last on February 17, 2026, at the age of 60. She is famously known for her role in Salman Khan’s film, Ready. As per reports, she had suffered a long battle with multiple myeloma since 2019. In these extremely testing times, her family stood with her. Read on to know more about her and her married life!

Who was Pravina Deshpande?

Pravina Deshpande had an illustrious career spanning over several decades. She had worked in both Marathi and Hindi cinemas. She rose to fame for her role as ‘Shalu Chaudhary’ in Salman Khan’s film, Ready. The film also starred Asin in the lead role. Although she played the role of a ‘mother’, she was loved for the way she acted in the film. She was also part of films like Parmanu, Ek Villian, Jalebi and more. 

For the unversed, Pravina’s impact was remarkable on the small screen. She was famous for playing character roles in Ghar Ek Mandir, Kumkum, Karam Apnaa Apnaa, and Kulfi Kumar Bajewala. Recently, she has also wrapped up her project, The Family Man season 3, wherein she played the mother of Manoj Bajpayee’s character. She was strongly loved for the way she took on every project.

Pravina Deshpande survived with her husband and two sons

Pravina Deshpande kept her personal life private. She rarely shared her family photos on Instagram. She is survived by her husband, Aniruddha Deshpande and her two sons, who are also married. When Pravina Deshpande suffered from her health condition. It was her husband, Aniruddha Deshpande, who stood with her and took care of her.

In an interview with The Times Of India, Pravina Deshpande talked about her family who stood with her when she had to stay in isolation for the transplant. Her children and daughter-in-law stood with her. They took turns sitting in the guest room. They offered moral support to her through video calls. She added that her nephew went bald to support her. She was quoted as saying:

“During my 17 days in isolation for the transplant, my husband (Aniruddha Deshpande), two sons, daughter-in-law, and close relatives never let me feel alone. They took turns sitting in the guest room, offering moral support through video calls. Their presence gave me the strength to believe in my recovery. My niece even cut her long hair, and my nephew went bald in my solidarity. Having a strong support system is crucial in such times.”

After a break of eight months, Pravina got back to work. She completed two short films after coming back. She used to wear a wig while shooting for the film with Manoj Bajpayee. Work gave her the strength to fight her health condition. Her unfinished projects were the main motivation for her to get well soon. She once said:

“Recently, I worked on two short films and finished shooting for my small part as Manoj Bajpayee’s mother in The Family Man 3, wearing a wig. Work has given me strength, peace, and something to look forward to. My unfinished goals have been my core motivation in recovery. I look forward to achieving complete remission now and hopefully taking up interesting projects.
