Michael van Gerwen is a major doubt to take part in Thursday night’s Premier League Darts in Glasgow – live on Sky Sports – due to a ‘medical issue’.
League leader Van Gerwen is due to go head-to-head with world champion Luke Littler on Scottish soil.
The Dutchman boasts a three-point lead at the Premier League summit after featuring in successive nightly finals, although he was beaten 6-3 by an imperious Gerwyn Price in Antwerp last week.
A statement from the PDC read: “Michael has a medical issue and is awaiting results of tests which will determine whether he can travel to Glasgow.”
Should any player withdraw from a Premier League night, their quarter-final opponent would receive a bye to the semi-finals.
