Brittany Bowe added a new piece of hardware at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The American speed skater, 37, got engaged to girlfriend and fellow Olympian Hilary Knight, with the captain of Team USA’s women’s hockey team getting down on one knee with a silver band at the Milano Cortina Games.
“Olympics brought us together. This one made us forever,” the 36-year-old Knight captioned Wednesday’s Instagram post, which captured the heartfelt moment.
Longtime Olympians, Knight and Bowe’s friendship evolved during the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where they took evening walks together to decompress amid the pressures of the games.
“It was just a really good way to get to know her, going for walks, getting out of our suites,” Knight previously told Olympics.com.
“To have that human connection, even walking outside at a distance, it was really cool.”
A two-time Olympic medalist, Bowe claimed bronze in the team pursuit during the 2018 PyeongChang Games and added another bronze medal with a third-place finish in the 1000 m in Beijing.
The Milano Cortina Games will mark Bowe’s final Olympics.
She and Team USA fell to Japan in Tuesday’s bronze-medal final in the women’s team pursuit.
Much like Bowe, Knight plans to call it a career at the Olympics after Italy.
2026 WINTER OLYMPICS
She’s chasing gold in Thursday’s final against Canada.
Knight earned her first gold in PyeongChang and nabbed silver at the Vancouver (2010), Sochi (2014) and Beijing Games.

Love has certainly been in the air at the Olympics, with American skier Breezy Johnson getting engaged to boyfriend Connor Watkins after last week’s super-G event.
The Winter Olympics conclude Sunday.
