Mrunal Thakur’s Ex-Boyfriend Got Jealous When She Worked With Shahid Kapoor, ‘It Was His Insecurity’

Mrunal Thakur is grabbing the limelight after rumours of her alleged marriage to Tamil sensation Dhanush surfaced. But neither the actress nor Dhanush has directly commented on the speculations. Amid the ongoing buzz, Mrunal recently revealed that her ex-boyfriend got jealous when she worked with good-looking actors.

Mrunal Thakur revealed her ex-boyfriend was insecure about her co-stars

Mrunal Thakur recently appeared on Raunaq Rajani’s show, RelationSh!t Advice to promote her film, Do Deewane Seher Mein. During one of the conversations, the actress got candid about her ex-boyfriend, who was insecure when she worked with Hrithik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor. Speaking about the same, she said:

“In the initial stages of my career, I was shooting with Hrithik Roshan, then Shahid Kapoor. And I’m an only long-distance person. This guy, who was a Scandinavian, thought that I was hanging around and shooting with a lot of good-looking men. So, he started working out. Lost like some, 15-17 kgs. He got muscles.”

In the same conversation, Mrunal revealed that she later gave up because he could not ‘catch up’ with the actors she was working with. Revealing how it was his insecurity that made him competitive, Mrunal shared:

“Later, I found out that after a point, he stopped working out, started eating, and gained 20 more kg. He said he’s tired of catching up, but I was like, I never asked you to lose weight. It was his insecurity. I never made him feel like I needed to date a man who has muscles.”

For the past few days, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush’s wedding. An anonymous source mentioned the date of their wedding, and the two stars have not yet responded. For those who do not know, Mrunal and Dhanush first sparked dating buzz during the screening of Son of Sardaar 2. Reports had claimed that Dhanush had attended the screening only for Mrunal.

Recently, a video went viral on social media showing Mrunal and Dhanush sitting for wedding rituals. Mrunal was seen wearing a maroon saree, while Dhanush was seen donning a white vesthi. As per the caption, the couple got married on January 22, 2026, in a low-key ceremony, in the presence of Trisha Krishnan, Shruti Haasan, Anirudh Ravichander, Vijay Thalapathy, Dulquer Salmaan, and Ajith Kumar. As the video went viral, people got confused. Well, there’s no truth to the video, and it’s an AI-generated clip.

Mrunal made her television acting debut with the show Mujhse Kuchh Kehti…Yeh Khamoshiyaan. She made her Hindi film debut in 2018 with the film, Love Sonia, followed by films like Super 30, Batla House, Toofan, Dhamaka, Jersey, Sita Ramam and many more.

Mrunal Thakur will be next seen in the film, Do Deewane Seher Mein, opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi.
