Katie Price stunned fans by announcing she was pregnant on Wednesday – and the news has left her friends and family concerned, according to insiders
Katie Price stunned fans by announcing she was pregnant on Wednesday, revealing she was having Lee Andrews’ child. The former glamour model shared the news as she told Lee’s ex, Alana Percival, to stop “embarrassing” herself after making a string of claims about the Dubai businessman.
“Please just enjoy watching us build our empire as I’m having his child,” Katie wrote, before adding, “Now disappear back under that bridge you irrelevant little troll.”
But whilst the star’s nearest and dearest are yet to publicly comment on the news – although her sister Sophie did seem to make her feelings clear on Wednesday night – sources say that behind closed doors, Katie’s loved ones are extremely worried.

A source tells The Mirror: “Katie has longed for a baby because for her, it means commitment – it’s way of having a special bond with this guy that no one else will have.
“But the family are concerned about her wellbeing. Being pregnant can take its toll and having a newborn is a lot with sleep deprivation and it’s not usually as easy in your forties as when in your twenties. Katie’s loved ones understandably have concerns and questions. Having a baby is expensive in Dubai – how is she going to afford it? Where is she going to live? She’s not known Lee long. They think it’s a bit irresponsible. They just want to see her happy and are concerned about the impact a pregnancy and baby may have on her life.”
Katie’s pregnancy news has come as a surprise, especially since the star has endured one of the most public fertility battles, chronicling failed treatments, health scares and heartbreaking loss. Her fertility struggles in recent years have played out in the spotlight as she’s opened up about her difficulties. The mum of five also revealed she’d recently seen a doctor to talk about her weight loss.
In October, it was reported that Katie was set to lose almost half of her monthly income from multiple companies to pay off creditors after a judge said she must reduce her “extravagant pattern of expenditure”. The former glamour model was first declared bankrupt in 2019 and again in 2024.
Both bankruptcies have since been discharged, but she remains the subject of a court order known as an income payments order (IPO) – meaning she must pay 40 per cent of her monthly income from several companies to the trustee of her bankruptcies until February 2027.
Katie and Lee – who tied the knot in a shock quickie ceremony in Dubai last month – were spotted together on their honeymoon just hours before Katie announced her big news. Katie showed off her stomach and results of her recent bum procedure in a tiny orange thong bikini, while Lee proudly displayed his new tattoo – Katie’s name inked on his torso.
At one point the newlyweds held hands as they took a break from sunbathing, before cooling off in the pool. Katie was seen embracing her husband in the water. The couple then relaxed on some sun loungers, with Lee resting his hand on Katie’s leg.
In 2023, Katie invited cameras in for a two‑part Channel 4 series titled Katie Price : Making Babies, which documented her attempts to conceive via IVF. The programme revealed how difficult the process had become for her as her hormone levels dwindled and her egg supply diminished – markers of the biological clock that often limit fertility in later years.
In the show, she underwent hormone stimulation and egg collection. Although one egg was fertilised, it ultimately did not result in a viable pregnancy, and the IVF treatment was unsuccessful. Following the documentary and the intense physical and emotional demands of treatment, Price described feeling “exhausted” and decided not to pursue further IVF cycles at that time.
Despite the setback, she made it clear in public appearances that she still wanted more children, telling fans that she didn’t have any eggs left but still wanted a sixth child. Katie is currently mum to Harvey Price, 23, Junior Andre, 20, Princess Andre, 18, Jett Riviera, 12, and Bunny Hayler, 11.
Alongside fertility treatment, Price has been navigating perimenopause, the transition leading up to menopause that brings fluctuating hormones, night sweats, brain fog and other symptoms. She has discussed worrying signs – including waking up with night sweats and other changes – and said she was having blood tests to better understand what her body is going through.
Her journey wasn’t limited to fertility clinics. Around Christmas 2024, Katie and then‑partner JJ Slater experienced the heartbreak of a miscarriage, after an unexpected pregnancy – a loss she later confirmed devastated her.
She told The Sun : “Did I cry or not? I don’t really know, but I was just really sad because we went from joy and relief that I could get pregnant naturally, to confusion, heartbreak and sadness.”
Speaking about plans to grow her family in 2023, Katie told the Turning Adversity Into An Asset podcast: “I have got a surrogate, I haven’t got any eggs anymore, I’m 44, I want another baby, so what am I supposed to do? I can’t pop it out.”
When host Lewis Raymond Taylor asked who would be having the baby, Katie said: “I have got this lady, it will be my egg – she’s been a fan of mine for years, and she does do surrogacy.”
Asked who the father would be, Katie replied: “If I was with someone, it would be with them, if not, it would be a sperm donor.” However, the surrogate then pulled out after being “disrespected” by Katie, who she claims treated her and her four children like “s***.”
While Katie’s family is yet to publicly comment on her news, her sister Sophie shared a clip on Wednesday evening appearing to make her feelings clear. The video showed Dr Gabor Maté talking about the various approaches that families can make in difficult times and concludes with him explaining the second, saying: “I’m not going to try and change you. I just hope you come to your senses at some point. But I’ll be with you and I’ll be supporting you.”
A representative for Katie Price declined to comment.
