Rajeev Khandelwal is currently promoting his new project, Amar Vishwas. During an exclusive interview with Filmfare, he opened up about his character of the same name, Amar Vishwas, a lawyer who ensures justice. Speaking about the role, he shared what drew him to the script, the emotional depth of the character and how the story highlights integrity, resilience and the fight for truth in a heavily flawed system.
He shared his take on his character, adding that this courtroom drama is neither over the top, nor understated. He said, “So, this one is not too dramatic. And this is not slice-of-life as well. There is drama. There is enough drama to hold your attention. It is not over the top. It is not really understated. When we were filming, I was told that the real court does not look like this. Real courts are noisy. We also met lawyers and judges while we were shooting. We did that to understand more about courtroom proceedings.”

Rajeev Khandelwal also said Amar Vishwas, as a character, will resonate with audiences. “That’s the effort at least. I hope that it does. There are a lot of similarities between Amar and my real self too. We are very similar. It was not very difficult for me to understand him. Before you get into shooting, you do readings. And you are working on the character. I understood the fabric of Amar Vishwas very quickly. The way he is written – he is not scared of the world. He is constantly listening to his inner voice. He is impulsive and would want to break the norms. And that made it easier for me to improvise and live the character,” he further quipped.
