A former contestant on American Idol has pleaded not guilty to the death of his wife after she was shot and killed in their family home.
A former American Idol contestant has been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife. Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder and two counts each of felonious assault and tampering with evidence in the death of Ashley Flynn, 37.
The hysterical 911 call from the tragic night in question has been released, with Caleb heard telling emergency services of his wife’s injuries. Ashley is thought to have been found dead on Monday morning.
While he is under arrest for the alleged murder, Caleb told the 911 operator that someone broke into their Ohio home and shot his wife. In the audio, Flynn is heard in hysterics as he claims somebody broke in and shot his wife in the head, saying there was blood everywhere and the door to the garage was wide open. He said his kids were in the property sleeping.

Speaking to the dispatcher, he said his wife’s face was “white as a ghost”. The release of the audio comes as Flynn was arrested on Thursday by the Tipp City Police Department in Ohio.
He was booked for murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence, according to records obtained by TMZ. The publication says authorities claim Ashley was shot using a 9mm semiautomatic handgun.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, his lawyer said: “Caleb Flynn entered a plea of Not Guilty this morning and looks forward to defending this case. We are both disappointed and concerned about the short timeline and seeming rush to judgment in this case.
“When the government runs out of leads or can’t develop leads and looks at a surviving spouse in cases such as these, the chance of a wrongful conviction increases.”
Flynn’s lawyer also said the bond of $2million (around £1.5million) was “unnecessarily high”. And he added: “It’s disturbing the speed at which this occurred…,” before questioning the “thoroughness” of the investigation.
Flynn had appeared on season 12 of American Idol. At the time, he failed to make it through to the next stage. However, he did give an interview as part of his trial. In it, he was full of praise for his wife.
