With spring training games already underway, it means the baseball season is quickly approaching. That means it’s time to come out of hibernation early and begin studying for your fantasy drafts.
Catcher can be a make-or-break position for your squad, but there are plenty of backstops capable of solid production — and many won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
According to Fantasy Alarm, which tracks the average draft positions across leagues on RT Sports, Fantrax, NFBC, Yahoo and ESPN, five catcher-eligible players — Cal Raleigh (14.38), William Contreras (57.34), Ben Rice (69.54), Shea Langeliers (68.88) and Hunter Goodman (93.46) — are being selected in the top 100 picks.
Good news: You don’t have to select any of them to build a successful team.
