Kerry Katona finds it “very sad” that she doesn’t have anyone to look back on her Atomic Kitten days with and admitted she would be more than happy to go back if asked
Kerry Katona has admitted she feels “very sad” about her Atomic Kitten days. The former pop star, 45, shot to fame alongside Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton as part of the girlband in the late 1990s, but left just before they released their signature hit Whole Again.
Jenny Frost took her place in the group, and they remained active until 2003. In the years that followed her initial stint, Kerry became a TV favourite, winning I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! and famously fronting adverts for Iceland, and only re-joined the band for a brief period of time as part of ITV2’s The Big Reunion in 2013.
Atomic Kitten have since reunited on occasion without Kerry, perhaps most notably for the Euros in 2020, but following the news that their fellow 1990s band S Club are working on something new, the star admitted that she finds it a bit upsetting that she has no one to look back on her pop heyday with, even though she would willingly go back if asked.

Writing in her new! magazine column, she said: “I was so excited when I saw S Club are working on a reunion! I think we’re so desperate for that kind of nostalgia now. After watching Girlbands Forever , I started to realise it. It brought so much back for me.
“We’re missing a lot now – there’s no real pop styles anymore. I’m so glad to have been a part of that generation because now, the world really concerns me.
“Kids have just got iPads now. Tell them to go out and play, and they think you’re weird! I’d go back to Atomic Kitten in a heartbeat if they asked me!
“I’ve heard a rumour they are getting back together, but I hold no grudges! I wouldn’t be where I am today without them, it’s just very sad that I have nobody to reminisce with about those days.”
The former Celebs Go Dating star, who is now in a relationship with Paolo Margaglione after meeting him on the E4 show, has also had remarkable success with her OnlyFans platform, having claimed to have earned more than £1 million selling racy pictures on the adults-only platform.
But after noticing that Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney received backlash over a recent ad campaign for her lingerie line SYRN, in which she opens her top and pulls an unknown man’s boxers down, Kerry has wondered why the former Euphoria star
She said: “Sydney Sweeney’s recent ad campaign for her lingerie brand certainly caught our attention, why wouldn’t it? But some were accusing her of ‘selling sex’ like Kim Kardashian, while trying to be taken seriously as an actress.
“Why the hell can’t she do both? I do OnlyFans and get criticised. Different people, standards, boxes – you end up pigeonholed. Why can’t we have it all? It’s just jealousy, I think. “
