The woman who claims she had a seven-year affair with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, something he denies, claims his new Netflix show is ‘misleading and disingenuous’

Gordon Ramsay’s alleged ex-mistress has spoken out publicly after the celebrity chef’s new ‘”misleading” Netflix series triggered the PTSD she claims she was left with after he denied their seven-year affair. Sarah Symonds, 56, has branded the star and his documentary as “fake”, claiming his marriage to wife Tana was a “sham”.

Being Gordon Ramsay launched on 18 February and the six-part series gives viewers an insight into the more vulnerable said of the famously shouty TV chef. In fact, Gordon, 59, cries as he opens up about his working class upbringing and his absence as a father during his kids’ early childhood.

But for Sarah, the tears don’t wash. The Welsh native, who was once dubbed a “professional mistress”, having had affairs with other married men, including politician Jeffrey Archer, claimed she was seeing Gordon for seven years, after meeting in 2001.

Sarah, who published the book Having an Affair? in 2007, ranted to the Daily Mail: “The title of the docu-series ‘Being Gordon Ramsay’ is totally fake – just like him.

“It’s misleading and disingenuous. A travesty in fact, as nothing about it was ‘Being Gordon’ at all.”

She added the show is a “glossed over” version of Gordon, who she describes as a “bully, cheat, liar and serial philanderer”. Sarah said that the Netflix description of the show as “unflinchingly honest” makes her want to scream, adding that she is “trying to heal” from the trauma of her affair.

Ramsay has denied ever having had an affair, while Sarah recalls he acted as though he was single, claiming he “was always available” and “certainly wasn’t rushing home” from his late nights partying in London. The Mirror has reached out to Gordon’s reps for comment.

Not only has Sarah been vocal about the new Netflix show, she attempted to remain relevant during Gordon’s son-in-law’s family feud. The author struck up a friendship with Adam Peaty’s mum Caroline, after the Olympic swimmer cut ties with his family and uninvited them from his and Holly Ramsay’s wedding.

Sarah claims their affair began in 2001, when Gordon’s daughter Holly, now 26, was just a year old. The 56-year-old revealed how she reached out to Caroline on Facebook after hearing about her fallout with Holly and her family.

The pair made friends over social media, now exchanging voice notes and bonding over their shared dislike of Gordon. Sarah told the Daily Mail previously: “I really know what it means to go through this trauma [with the Ramsays]. By talking to Caroline, yes, I’m opening up my scars again – but I’m doing it to help others.”

She continued: “Caroline and I are close. One could say we are kindred spirits. Because if anyone knows what she is going through it is me. I wanted her to know I thought the way Gordon and his family were treating her was terrible. I just felt so sad for her and wanted to try to make her feel a bit better.”
