BAFTA Awards favourite Timothée Chalamet has joked about changing his name in future as he and girlfriend Kylie Jenner reportedly make major life decisions including wedding and baby plans

Oscar contender Timothée Chalamet has dropped hints about potentially changing his name in later life, as the actor is said to be making a significant personal decision alongside girlfriend Kylie Jenner.

Timothée is tipped to claim the Best Actor prize at tonight’s BAFTA Awards (Sunday, February 22) for his performance as a table tennis player in Marty Supreme. He faces competition from Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another and Michael B Jordan in Sinners among others.

The news emerges as Timothée and Kylie have apparently agreed to tie the knot in late 2026 as part of a $100million (around £74m) commercial arrangement orchestrated by Kylie’s mum Kris Jenner. The nuptials are planned to be broadcast as part of The Kardashians reality series towards the close of 2026.

The Dune actor will receive a share from the programme, which is anticipated to generate a staggering $100m return, alongside an endorsement contract with Kylie’s brands in return for his involvement.

However, there’s genuine affection mixed in with the multi-million-pound commercial arrangements: according to an insider who spoke to Heat Magazine, Kylie is said to be “baby crazy” and is longing to have a child with the Oscar-nominated actor she has been seeing since early 2023.

Kylie shares two children with former partner Travis Scott – Stormi and Aire – whilst for Timothée it would mark his first child. “They’re living together now and have spoken openly about having kids,” the source revealed.

“Tim 100% wants to be a dad and Kylie’s totally baby crazy. [Kylie’s children] Stormi and Aire are getting so big, she’s starting to miss having a baby around.”

Timothée reportedly has a strong bond with Kylie’s children, and according to the insider he’s equally enthusiastic about parenthood: “People around them honestly wouldn’t be surprised if a baby announcement happens very soon. It’s what Kylie wants and he seems to be on the same page.”

Meanwhile, speaking with Theo Von on the This Past Weekend podcast, Timothée discussed making some alterations to his name: “When I was 19-20, I was, you know, I was evolving into Timothée.”

To which Theo quipped: “You shed some letters.”

The actor, with a chuckle, corrected the host, clarifying that he actually expanded his name “from Timmy to Timothée”. Theo remarked: “Yeah, I thought you were going Tim, sorry. You went Timothée.”

The young star then suggested: “Yeah, forties, fifties, couple of ex-wives; then you go Tim. You know, I’m like, you know, like mowing my lawn all day.”

Theo threw in a playful jab: “Hey, Tim; missed a spot.”

He continued the banter by mentioning he’d have a “disgruntled expression” on his face at his kid’s sports games, complaining they’re “not playing to the level”. Timothée was a gifted sportsman in his own right, serving as the goalkeeper for New York football team, the Manhattan Kickers.

His former teammate Alex Muyl, who now plays for Major League football club Nashville SC, remembers Timothée as an especially vibrant character during away games.

“He was always a performer,” Alex shared with The Athletic. “I have really great memories of going on little tournament away trips, staying in the hotel, and he’d be just entertaining everybody. He’d have everyone, from 12-year-old kids to adults, cracking up and laughing.

“He always had a real energy and curiosity that I think really translates well to acting. When you were with him, he was always so fun. You were always laughing so much. I think you can see that still, he’s just a guy who’s got this energy for life that’s infectious.”

Alex further noted that Timothée, who initially played as a midfielder before moving back to be a goalkeeper, was excellent in his position. He added: “”He was always technical, with good feet, and then as a goalkeeper, a good shot-stopper, with really good reactions. As he still had that technical base, he was able to control the game with his feet.”

Timothée is a lifelong fan of French football team Saint-Etienne, a nod to his French roots.
