TV host Ruth is promoting her new book and she insists she is open to anything which will make her feel fabulous

Ruth Langsford has spoken about dating again after her split from Eamonn Holmes – and says she is not ruling anything out . Despite her heartbreak over Eamonn blindsiding her with a divorce, Ruth says she’s open to future romance and could even marry again.

The 65-year-old will release her first book Feeling Fabulous later this week which is part memoir and part self help book to help readers deal with issues they may face later in life. Asked about dating again after many years of marriage, Ruth insisted she was not putting any age limits or ruling out marrying again.

She said: “If I said to you ‘I’m definitely not interested in men my age or older’, there might be the most fabulous man who’s 75 that I think ‘wow!’. The answer is I have not set any limits on anything. That’s my rule in life. Open mind, open heart, no limits, carry on, find the jot and who knows what will happen.”

In an interview with Woman magazine, Ruth went on to say she was not quite ready for friends to set her up on dates yet but she was moving on from her split.

“I’m a very independent person, always have been. So I’m not afraid of being on my own or living alone. And there are times when I positively enjoy it, a quiet house, do what you like, get up when you want, watch what you want, eat what you want.

So I’m not making any plans. I’m not doing the kind of, ‘I will never live with another person. I will never have a relationship. I’ll never get married. I’ll never do this. I’ll never do that’. Never say never!”

Ruth says after going through tough times you “have a choice to find joy again” and that is both what she is doing and what she is trying to pass on in her book.

Ruth and Eamonn, who previously hosted This Morning together, announced their split in May 2024.

After 14 years of being married, Ruth revealed in November the shock of the split hit her hard and she had turned to therapy to help.

Eamonn began a new relationship with girlfriend Katie Alexander shortly after the split, and they regularly attend events and have been photographed on holiday together.

Ruth, who shares son Jack, 23, with Eamonn, took time off work from fronting Loose Women when the split was first announced and returned to the screen several months later. Sources at the time told the Mirror she had been left devastated by what had happened and how quickly Eamonn moved on.
