Ready or Not sequel, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, is finally scheduled to arrive in theatres on March 20, 2026. The first film was released back in 2019. The horror comedy focused on the story of a bride who is pursued by the family of her husband, which is a part of a wedding night ritual to worship the Devil. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, Ready or Not was an unexpected success at the box office. It featured Samara Weaving playing the lead role of the bride and Mark O’Brien appearing as her husband.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come reportedly entered development in 2024. Samara Weaving was finalised to be a part of the sequel, reprising her role from the first film. Release date of Ready or Not 2: Here I Come was preponed by a month
As mentioned, the filming for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come was completed in June 2025. In the same month, Searchlight Pictures shared a post on X, revealing that the movie will arrive in theatres on April 2, 2026. However, the production company later confirmed in December 2025 that the release date was being moved to March 20, 2026. The film will be released along with the science fiction adventure film, Project Hail Mary, on the same date.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett have returned to direct the film. Moreover, it is produced by Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Bradley J. Fischer. The music department is being handled by Sven Faulconer. According to Scream Horror Magazine, the sequel has been rated R by the MPAA for drug use, strong violence, and language.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come will continue the story of ‘Grace MacCaullay’ (Samara Weaving), who was spotted coming out of the manor covered with blood at the end of the first film. However, ‘Grace’ will be joined by her sister ‘Faith,’ played by Kathryn Newton, this time. The latter becomes a target while ‘Grace’ is forced to participate in another game, where the wealthiest families on Earth have to k*ll her. In the upcoming sequel, ‘Grace’ will be tasked with protecting her sister while emerging as a winner of the game at the same time.
During an interview with Comic Book in June 2025, writer Guy Busick opened up on the beginning of the film, saying that ‘Grace’ will wake up in a hospital. Notably, she remembers the deaths of her in-laws and husband. Guy said that the sequel’s storyline has a “weird kind of logic” since the survival of ‘Grace’ in the first film has now created a disorder in the entire world. Producer James Vanderbilt also told Comic Book in May 2025 that they did not want to lose the “sauce” of the first film, adding that it was the main reason why the sequel was not confirmed immediately after the success of the previous part.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has new cast members, except the lead
Samara Weaving is the only actress to return from the first film for the sequel. The remaining cast members of Ready or Not 2: Here I Come will be completely new. Kathryn Newton will play ‘Grace MacCaullay’s’ sister, ‘Faith MacCaullay.’ There is also Sarah Michelle Gellar, appearing as ‘Ursula Danforth.’ David Cronenberg will play the lead of the ‘Danforth’ family alongside Shawn Hatosy portraying ‘Titus Danforth.’
Nestor Carbonell will be seen as ‘Ignacio,’ followed by Elijah Wood playing ‘The Lawyer.’ Other cast members include Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, and Varun Saranga. Furthermore, Juan Pablo Romero, Masa Lizdek, Maia Jae, Daniel Beirne, and Antony Hall have been cast in undisclosed roles.
