After exuberant iterations in New York, London, Paris, and Los Angeles, it was only right that Vogue World journeyed to Italy—and this year, it’s doing just that.
Last November, Vogue Italia announced that the global fashion celebration would next take place in Milan, on the first day of Milan Fashion Week. Its overarching theme? Uplifting “craftsmanship and the human touch” in the age of technology.
“We are so excited that Milan will be the next city to host Vogue World in 2026,” Francesca Ragazzi, Vogue Italia’s head of editorial content, said in a statement. “This extraordinary event offers a unique opportunity to celebrate with a global audience the timeless story of Made in Italy, a story of genius and craftsmanship. It feels particularly meaningful to do so at this moment in time, in the era of artificial intelligence.”
Here’s everything you need to know about Vogue World 2026:
When is Vogue World: Milano?
Just a few months after its turn co-hosting the Winter Olympic Games, Milan will serve as the setting for Vogue World’s sweeping celebration of handicraft on Thursday, September 22, 2026.
Where will Vogue World: Milano be held?
As announced at a press conference on February 24, Vogue World: Milano will take place at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II—that iconic, glass-topped shopping arcade at the heart of the city, between La Scala and the Duomo. “Milan is one of the great European capitals of craftsmanship, where heritage and modernity meet, and where art, literature, opera and industry have long converged,” Anna Wintour, Condé Nast’s chief content officer and Vogue’s global editorial director, observed in a statement. “There could be no better place for Vogue World to honor everything that is extraordinary about this city than the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.”
What’s going to happen during Vogue World: Milano?
Over a series of thematic acts, Vogue World: Milano will survey and celebrate fashion’s ability to “preserve heritage, drive innovation, and shape the future.” From the brocade work of the Renaissance period to industrial wool, screen-based imagery to textiles, “a continuous dialogue between hand and machine” will emerge—with leading Italian fashion houses, master artisans, and international talent helping to tell that story.
How will Vogue World: Milano differ from previous versions of the event?
Though its point has always been to fête fashion, each iteration of Vogue World has done so through a slightly different lens. Vogue World’s 2022 debut included a fashion show and street fair intended to revitalize New York Fashion Week after COVID. In 2023, Vogue World took the form of an evening at the theater in London, benefiting the city’s performing arts scene. In 2024, Vogue World: Paris paid tribute to fashion and sports at the Place Vendôme, with more than 500 models, athletes, and performers participating. Then, last year, Vogue World traveled to Hollywood, where it explored fashion’s long love affair with the movies.
Who is helping to bring Vogue World: Milano to life?
The team behind Vogue World: Milano is headed up by Ragazzi, Wintour, and a dazzling roster of creative talent. Juan Costa Paz, of the Paris-based creative studio Convoy, serves as creative director; the fashion is being spearheaded by Lady Amanda Harlech; and Judith Clark, a professor of fashion and museology at University of the Arts London, has come onboard as the show’s curator. Marco Balich of Balich Wonder Studios, meanwhile, is serving as executive producer, partnering with Marie Julie Craeymeersch of Mode and the Moon on overall production direction.
What will Vogue World: Milano’s charitable component look like?
Since 2022, Vogue World has raised several million dollars in support of charitable organizations across the globe. This year, Vogue is committed to supporting the Municipality of Milan through a contribution linked to the event. The funds, per a release, “will support cultural and social initiatives serving the public good, to be jointly identified and defined in detail with the Municipality of Milan, with the aim of delivering long-term benefit to the city and its communities.”
Will Vogue World: Milano be livestreamed?
Yes! As in years past, you’ll be able to watch the full show right here on vogue.com. Stay tuned for further details.
