A winning double at Kembla Grange on Tuesday has trainer Peter Snowden poised for more success at Wyong on Thursday.

The Randwick-based horseman prepared Aligned and Rivendell to score at Kemba Grange, and he will attempt to go on with the job when he has Valentiago lining up in the API Engineering Maiden Plate (1600m) and Vision In A Dream in the Reward Homes Super Maiden Plate (1350m).

Tom Sherry will partner Valentiago, while Andrew Adkins takes the ride on Vision In A Dream.

Valentiago is a three-year-old gelding by Dundeel and has finished second in four of his eight starts. Snowden thinks he can run boldly at Wyong.

“He resumed in city grade on the Kensington track and ran into a handy maiden field there, but he ran well second-up when he finished second at Bathurst,” Snowden said. “He was beaten less than a length in that and it was an encouraging effort.

“We took him to Kembla Grange after that and he was midfield, and then he went back to country company at Goulburn and ran another second in what was another sound effort.

“The 1600m should suit at Wyong and I’m confident he’ll run well.”

Vision In A Dream contests her event on the back of a debut fifth behind Kitesurfing at Gosford on February 11.

A three-year-old filly by Lucky Vega, Vision In A Dream had four barrier trials spread over two preparations prior to her first start.

“It was a sound performance at Gosford for her first start,” said Snowden.

“She drew gate one and once she got clear in the straight, she kept finding the line which was encouraging.

“Andrew [Adkins] rode her there and he sticks with her. She is up in distance to the 1350m, and it looks like it will be to her liking.”

Hawkesbury trainer Brad Widdup has one of the most interesting runners of the day at Wyong with debut winner Ausbred Hed’n’tail lining up in the Lakes Podiatry Class 1 Handicap (1350m) with Tommy Berry aboard. He said Anthropoid would wait for another day after drawing wide in race six.
