Sanjay Leela Bhansali was hospitalised following chest pain like symptoms. While certain reports state that the director had a heart attack on his birthday, February 24, the same hasn’t been officially confirmed by his team. Now our sources have shared that Bhansali was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital for routine tests following chest pain.
He is currently shooting for his upcoming film, Love & War. It stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in leading roles. Our sources have also confirmed that the shooting for the highly-anticipated movie has also been cancelled for two weeks.
The director and his team were working extensively on the film. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Bhansali had revealed that the film has “no pillars, no costumes, no horses.” He shared the movie to be “different.” While many theories on the Internet have speculated that Love & War might be a remake of Raj Kapoor’s 1964 film Sangam, Bhansali rejected the claims. “I love Sangam. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) is also like Sangam, where I tried to make Aishwarya Rai [Bachchan] into Vyjayanthimala, who’s the most beautiful woman on the Indian screen, according to me.”
Speaking about Love & War, he also noted that working with Ranbir Kapoor after 18 years was exciting for him. He also shared that he believes Alia to be a “chota-packet-bada-dhamaka girl.” “I am also working with Vicky Kaushal for the first time. But besides being wonderful actors, they’re wonderful people.”

As fans and the industry await further clarity on his health, well-wishers have been pouring in support for the filmmaker, hoping for his swift recovery. With Love & War bringing together powerhouse performers like Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, anticipation around the project remains sky-high despite the temporary halt in shooting.
