With Mother’s Day approaching (March 15 in case you’d forgotten!) now is the time to start thinking about what to buy for the all-important mums or mother-figures in your life. And if there’s one gift you can never go wrong with, it’s perfume.
The perfect gift that’s a little bit luxurious and shows you’re thinking of them, a great scent will always be well received, and we’ve just spotted a brilliant deal that lets you spoil them without breaking the bank. Over at Boots right now, you can pick up the Dolce & Gabbana The One Eau de Parfum with a huge 50% off, with the price slashed from £68 to just £34 for the 30ml bottle.

D&G’s The One perfume has a floral, ambery scent that was designed to embody femininity, blending intense and radiant notes with softer, more gentle scents. Said to be sophisticated and elegant, it’s a great choice for mums everywhere.
The top notes are bergamot, mandarin, lychee and peach, whilst underneath the heart notes are madonna lily, jasmine, lily of the valley and plum. It finishes with warm base notes of vanilla, amber, musk and vetiver, making it a warm, floral fragrance.

Boots shoppers have given it more than 200 five star reviews, with one praising it: “Been my favourite scent for years. It makes me feel special.”
Another agreed: “Bought on basis of scented description and was not disappointed. Very pleasant light scent, a good one to wear during the day and would buy the same again.”
Whilst a third wrote: “I love this fragrance and have been wearing it for several years. It still suits my skin, (and doesn’t react and evaporate within 30 minutes like many do). It smells classy, yet warm and soft and I feel special when I wear it. It does last on my skin for several hours. Day or night I can rely on this ‘trusty faithful’.”
Some, however, found The One‘s lasting power wasn’t the best, saying: “Not worth the cost, scent didn’t last long and could barely smell it after an hour of application.”
Another chimed in: “I brought this a few weeks ago and I am so disappointed with it. The fragrance is barely distinguishable, smells like furniture polish and it certainly doesn’t last. I would go so far as to say it’s unpleasant. Don’t waste your money on it.”
