‘Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2’ Ending Explained, Did ‘Benedict’ Get Married To His Love ‘Sophie Baek’?

The wait is finally over as the last four episodes of the much-awaited show, Bridgerton Season 4 have been released on Netflix. For the unversed, Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 premiered on February 26, 2026, and it continues the love story of ‘Benedict’ and ‘Sophie’, after their confession in Part 1. What happens in Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2?

Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 picks up right where Part 1 ended. For the unaware, Part 1 ended with ‘Benedict’ proposing to ‘Sophie’ to become his mistress. ‘Sophie’ had rejected the offer and walked off from the conversation. Part 2 opens with ‘Benedict’ and ‘Sophie’ dealing with heartbreak. The show explores ‘Benedict’s’ conflict as he wants to be with ‘Sophie’; however, he is struggling with his family name and duties. On the other hand, ‘Sophie’ deals with her past as he recalls how being a mistress ruined her mother’s life.

As the show moves forwards, ‘Benedict’s’ mother and brother continue to remind him of the risks that would happen if he married a maid. They also warn him that the family’s reputation is on the line. This makes ‘Benedict’ re-think his love for ‘Sophie’. Meanwhile, ‘Sophie’s’ background gradually comes to light. 

It is also worth mentioning that ‘Anthony’ and his wife, ‘Kate’ also return to Mayfair with their little boy, ‘Edmund’. For the unversed, the two had been missing since mid-season 3. The narrative of the show revealed that ‘Kate’ was expecting a child and the duo had gone to India to spend some time with ‘Kate’s’ family. The entire family is excited to see them return and welcome ‘Edmund’ with open arms, who is most likely to be an heir in the future.

Eventually, ‘Sophie’ is revealed to be the daughter of a high-ranking British noble man. This becomes the turning point of the show, as she no longer needs to live the life of a maid. As the much-loved show moves forward, ‘Sophie’ gets to know that her father had a huge estate and inheritance, which was meant to be hers; however, her stepmother stole everything. Later, as soon as the truth comes out, ‘Sophie’ reclaims her position in the society.

In the last episode of the show, Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2, ‘Sophie’, ‘Benedict’ and their entire family are at a grand ball, where ‘Benedict’ takes his final decision. Instead of a private confession, he reveals his love for ‘Sophie’ in front of thousands of people and proposes to her for marriage. 

Later, the couple shares a private moment on a balcony. It is worth mentioning that this scene can be nostalgic for the viewers as the entire mystery began at a similar balcony. However, this time, the two are without masks. The show ends with ‘Benedict’ and ‘Sophie’ exchanging vows with their family’s support.

It is worth mentioning that viewers were impressed by Yerin Ha and Luke Thompson. One fan commented, “I absolutely adored Season 4—Benedict and Sophie forever!—but I found it quite odd that Anthony and Kate were there for maybe two minutes and then just… disappeared. Anthony didn’t even make it to the funeral, and Benedict had to step in for Francesca.” Another user wrote, “S4 might actually be my favorite so far. I absolutely loved benophie, i adored all the franchaela moments and i really went through all the emotions.” A third user penned, ” Season 4 is perfect.”
