Jonathan Ross is one of the leading interviewers in the United Kingdom with a career that has stretched across multiple decades and multiple platforms

TV personalities Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton are two of the top television presenters in the UK.

Across many decades the pair have interviewed all sorts of famous individuals from all walks of life.

However, there has also been a sense of a rivalry between Jonathan and Graham, especially with the pair’s extraordinary ability to pull in viewing figures.

Now Jonathan, 65, has spoken a little more about the competitiveness between the pair of them, especially after Jonathan moved to ITV.

Asked who gets better guests by the Times, Jonathan asked what was meant by better, to which the response was whether Graham, 62, get’s bigger names.

In response, Jonathan replied: “He gets American names. And I am not quite sure why that is.”

The TV star was then asked whether Graham’s figures are better than his. Jonathan replied that whilst on first viewing they might be better, on catch-up the numbers are more even and that his own show was in perfectly good health.

He explained: “They are slightly better but on catch-up we are about the same. Last week, for example, our show beat the BBC until the news came on.

“So it’s a healthy show. I don’t think his figures are much better than mine, but I think they have a better relationship with the studios and by better I mean more conciliatory.”

Jonathan’s analysis of his career comes after it was announced that he would form part of a Channel 4 show that will hit screens later this year.

The show, known as Handcuffed, will be fronted by the Celebrity Traitors star and take eight pairs of strangers with different lifestyles, beliefs, and opinions and handcuff them together in a test of survival, reports the Mirror.

Together, they’ll be sent on a trip around the UK in the hope that they may find common ground as they vie for the £100,000 prize at the end. However, if their views clash or get in the way and they demand to be unchained, they may lose their chance at the prize pot. Speaking about the show, Jonathan said: “I believe this experiment will go a small way to healing a fractured Britain; after all, to know is to love. I’m rooting for our couples to go the distance and not let our differences overpower us.”

Meanwhile, Commissioning Editor Tim Hancock added: “Funny, intense, and featuring a cast reflecting a truly diverse range of British characters, this is the kind of social experiment you’d only see on Channel 4.
