The legacy of the late singer Zubeen Garg was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Filmfare Awards Assamese 2026 with Jeevan Ram Mungi Devi Goenka Public Charitable Trust. One of the most celebrated voices in Assamese music, Zubeen Garg, passed away in September last year.
The posthumous honour was received by his wife, Garima Saikia Garg and the late singer’s father, Kapil Thakur, at their residence. In an emotional moment, Filmfare’s Editor-in-Chief Jitesh Pillaai presented them with the coveted Black Lady.
Garima also posed with three Filmfare trophies, as Zubeen Garg was additionally recognised with the Best Playback Singer award for Agoli Anubhabe and a Special Recognition award for Roi Roi Binale.
