LeBron James’ family is just about basketball-ed out.
The Lakers’ superstar forward spoke with reporters on Sunday night after a 129-101 blowout win over the sorry Sacramento Kings, where his daughter, Zhuri, was in attendance and showed off some strong basketball moves on the sideline in a viral social media post.
“She’s a volleyball player,” James responded when asked if his 11-year-old daughter had any dreams of playing hoops. “Don’t get my wife mad. My wife is done with this basketball s–t. She’s done with it.”
Zhuri Nova James is the youngest child of James and his wife, Savannah.
“She’s a volleyball player, but she’s been around the game for a while,” James said. “She got good handles, and she got a good form, too. But my wife ain’t playin that. Not another one. She said, ‘That’s it.’”
James, 41, has said Savannah has been pushing him to retire from basketball in the last few years.
In a private conversation posted in an Instagram Story snippet in June, James told former teammate Kevin Love, among others, that “Savannah wants me to f–king retire in the next year or so.”
James has certainly built quite a family of basketball players.
His oldest son, 21-year-old Bronny, is currently on the Lakers’ bench and appears to be improving a bit in mop-up duty games.
His other son, 18-year-old Bryce, is currently redshirting his freshman year at Arizona.
After likely traveling throughout the country with their two sons to participate in AAU basketball tournaments, notoriously some of the more challenging schedules for the athletes and parents, it appears that Zhuri won’t be following in her father’s footsteps.

James is still filling up the stat sheet despite being the oldest player in the NBA.
He is averaging 21.6 points, seven rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game for the Lakers, who are 36-24 and sitting at the No. 6 seed in the loaded Western Conference.
