Actor Oscar Curtis, who plays Lucas Hay in Hollyoaks, has revealed he had to go to hospital on holiday after he was bit by a ‘little s***’ monkey
A Hollyoaks star has been rushed to hospital following a monkey bite abroad. Oscar Curtis required “rabies jabs” after the incident while he was on holiday in India. The 20-year-old actor, who plays Lucas Hay on the Channel 4 soap, was forced to have urgent medical care following the scary moment. He shared his ordeal on social media, describing how hit was bitten by a “little s***” monkey.
He shared a snap of the monkey in question sitting on a bench. And he captioned his upload: “Moments before the little s**t bit me and I had to go to hospital for rabies jabs FFS.” He quickly moved to reassure his followers that all was okay in the end, writing: “I’m all good tho and don’t have rabies.” He ended his post with a crying with laughter emoji face.

Oscar has been regularly updating his followers during his Indian adventure. His trip comes as rumours are rife of his Hollyoaks exit.
He initially joined the Channel 4 programme in 2023, as a recast for William Hall’s role as Lucas Hay, the son of Ste Hay and Amy Burns. Speculation suggested that his days on the soap were numbered and he himself hinted at “packing up” and moving on.
In an Instagram story, he posted a snap of a box with his personal items on the floor next to a bed. He wrote: “Packing up… gotta keep the essentials with me.”

It came weeks after he Oscar revealed Lucas’ future on the soap after his character was jailed for taking his dad Ste (played by Kieron Richardson) hostage.
The troubled teen has been involved in a number of harrowing storylines in recent years, attacking his father and stalking his ex Dillon Ray (played by Nathaniel Dass) after their break-up.
He was left gutted around Christmas when he discovered that Ste and Dillon had been having an affair behind his back, leading to an explosive showdown.
“I just wanted to do the whole story justice,” he later told Metro. “With the whole Ste, Dillon Lucas thing, we had to pull it out of the bag. I really had to dig deep for it but it’s those kind of scenes that as an actor you really want.”
