Search launched for missing swimmer on Sunshine Coast

A swimmer went missing from a Sunshine Coast beach on Wednesday evening, with search efforts continuing into the night.

Police said the swimmer was last seen about 4.15pm at Buddina Beach, near the Mooloolah River mouth.

Search efforts were still underway about 7pm, with water police and Polair being assisted by lifeguards, jet skis and foot patrols.

Officers urged anyone with information about the missing swimmer to contact police.
