A representative for Britney Spears has released a statement saying ‘she needs help’ following her arrest on Wednesday night.
They told The Mirror: “This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.
“Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”

It’s understood the singer was handcuffed by the California Highway Patrol around 9:30 PM on Wednesday night for Driving Under the Influence, TMZ claims. It is understood she was booked early on Thursday morning around 3 AM.
The publication claims she was since released at around 6 AM this morning. It’s understood she’s scheduled to appear in court on May 4, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s records.
Britney is yet to publicly comment on the reports of her arrest and her Instagram account appears to no longer be active. Earlier today it was reported the Toxic singer, whose highs and lows have been very publicly documented, was granted a permanent restraining order against a Louisiana man after her security team claimed he showed up at her home after making “disturbing social media posts”.
It’s understood she filed court documents against the 51 year old man, called Donald, and claimed he had been harassing her since 2013, TMZ reports. It’s understood Donald was arrested for trespassing on her property in 2025. He has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from the singer by a court after he was found by Britney’s security, who contacted the sheriff’s department, who found the man shaking at the scene and smoking cigarettes.

The troubled singer, who was released from her conservatorship in November 2021, regularly posts videos online which concern her fanbase. Just last week the star posted a racy video of herself dancing before suffering a wardrobe malfunction as the lacy lingerie she was wearing in the clip came away and failed to cover her up.
The clip featured the pop icon dancing along to Clean Bandit’s 2016 song Rockabye in a purple lace bodysuit before the lingerie’s plunging neckline struggled to contain her bust. The video is one of many of Britney’s racy dancing clips which featured on her now-deleted Instagram account.
The star has faced well-documented troubles over the years as she was placed into a conservatorship from 2008 until 2021. Her father was placed in front of her career, personal life and finances. Britney was released from the conservatorship after she accused her dad of “conservatorship abuse”. Following the termination of the conservatorship in light of the #FreeBritney movement, Britney has spoken out about her experience – slamming her family in a post just last month.
In a lengthy post on social media, shared in February, she revealed: “As people, all we really want is to feel connected to each other and never feel alone … for those of you in your family that have said to help you is to isolate you and make you feel unbelievably left out … they were wrong.
“We can forgive as people but u don’t ever forget. Yearning and longing for contact is always crucial !!! I’m incredibly lucky to even be alive with how my family treated me once in my life and now I’m scared of them.”
Hitting out at her relatives, she added: “It’s weird how God works in mysterious ways. My friends, what do you think he is saying today ??? Because to be totally honest with you, no matter what he says, they will never take responsibility for what they did. (sic)”
Despite the troubling conservatorship coming to an end, fans still fear for Britney’s mental health. Britney’s ex Kevin Federline spoke out in his book of his concerns for Britney’s mental health. He wrote in his memoir of her conservatorship: “But from where I stood, she needed help. Whether that was rehab or therapy, I couldn’t say for sure.”
