Vijay Thalapathy Arrives With Trisha Krishnan After Wife, Sangeetha Filed Divorce Due To His Affair

Vijay Thalapathy has been in a soup of controversy due to his personal life. It all started after his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, filed for divorce. The petition made it to the public sphere last week, but Sangeetha had registered the divorce case in December 2025. The reason was Vijay’s extramarital affair with an actress (the identity was kept hidden due to privacy). Later, many thought that it was Trisha Krishnan, and now, Vijay made first appearance with her, leaving many in shock.

A video from the wedding reception of Kalpathy Suresh and Meenakshi Suresh’s son has been going viral. In the clip, Vijay was seen at the venue, and to everyone’s surprise, Trisha Krishnan was walking just behind him. She looked gorgeous in a classy saree, and her presence added stars to the celebration. On the other hand, Vijay was dressed up in a traditional cream and gold-hued ensemble.

The two actors’ appearance together right after the divorce grabbed immediate attention from viewers and attendees. The two looked relaxed from their body posture and unhinged about the controversies and allegations their names were involved in. They even left the venue together. However, their presence definitely left many in shock.

Over the years, Vijay and Trisha have been known for their professional bond in the Tamil industry. They have starred in several hit films, and each one has grabbed superhit numbers. However, for 15 years, they stopped working together. But they again signed a film together, which was released in 2023.

The two actors’ association drew a lot of flak due to Sangeetha’s divorce petition, wherein she claimed that her husband was having an extramarital affair with an actress. People started wondering if it was Trisha. So far, neither Vijay nor Trisha has spoken on the claims circulating online. 

Vijay Thalapathy offered Rs. 250 crore alimony to settle the case with Sangeetha

A report by Tamil Filmibeat revealed that Vijay Thalapathy wants to settle the matter out of court. The actor-turned-politician doesn’t want to drag it due to his public image. He has initiated multiple talks over the same with his wife, Sangeetha, and if reports are to be believed, he has proposed an alimony of Rs. 250 crore to his wife.

The whopping settlement amount is for Sangeetha and their two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Saasha. However, the distribution of the amount is not yet revealed. The report further stated that the divorce plea will be withdrawn if both parties reach a mutual agreement. Vijay wants to protect the dignity of his family and keep the matter private. It is worth mentioning that Vijay’s son, Jason is also affected by the controversy and he had unfollowed his father on Instagram, siding with his mother.

Vijay Thalapathy’s wife, Sangeetha, claimed in her petition that her husband kept travelling abroad with the actress

As per the copy of Sangeetha’s divorce petition, Vijay Thalapaty kept travelling abroad with the actress with whom he had an extramarital affair. Not only this, her petition further mentions that the said actress continued to share pictures from their outing on her social media handle. She added that it caused immense distress to her and her children. In the petition, Sangeetha further claimed that Vijay Thalapathy kept his association going with the said actress, which caused Sangeetha emotional agony and embarrassment to the children among their friends, social circle and social media She said:

“The respondent continued travelling abroad and attend public events with the said actress. The actress regularly posted photographs of these outings on social media. The respondent neither denied nor objected to these posts, thereby tacitly endorsing them. These posts widely circulated, causing repeated humiliation to the petitioner and the children.”
