Britney Spears had a ‘helpful’ conversation with her mom, Lynne Spears, following her arrest for DUI

It was reported by TMZ that Britney Spears talked with her mom, Lynne Spears, on the phone, following her arrest and release. As per sources, Lynne talked with Birtney as soon as she was informed about the news of her arrest. Sources claimed that the conversation was really positive and helpful. Not only her mom, but Britney also had a conversation with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. For the unversed, Britney and her mom grabbed the attention with the strained relationship they had.

In 2021, Britney shared that while his dad was the one to begin conservatorship, ‘it was her mom who gave him the idea’. She revealed that it was her mom, who ‘ruined her life’. When Britney married Sam Asghari, her mom was not invited to the wedding. Later, Britney replied to her mom’s request to unblock her on social media with a stern ‘no’. In 2023, the duo had a meeting in person, following which their relationship was reportedly a bit better. But as per Us Weekly, by September 2025, the bond was still ‘complicated’. Well, it’s most recently that Lynne reached out to her daughter, soon after the reports about her arrest emerged.

New details about Britney Spears’s arrest have emerged 

Britney Spears was arrested on March 4, 2026, as reports claimed that there had been suspicions about her driving under the influence. Reportedly, the California Highway Patrol officers arrested her for DUI. Following this, she was officially booked at around 3:02 AM, and after a few hours, she was released.

As per a report by TOI, the singer was formally cited, and then she was released, while her court date has been set two months later, that is on May 4, 2026. Now, Us Weekly obtained a 911 dispatch audio, as per which the singer’s black BMW was driving ‘in and out of the lanes’. As per the operator, the car was even speeding, and was erratically being driven, and it was braking, swerving and driving with no taillight. 

For the unversed, Spears showed some signs of being under the influence, as reported, which led her to undergo some field sobriety tests. While the reports await, her reps told Us Weekly that it was an unfortunate incident, and the singer is going to take the right steps and comply with the law. Spears’s reps told Us Weekly:

“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
