Despite escalating tensions and missile strikes in the Middle East, Luisa Zissman has claimed that Dubai is still safer than the United Kingdom – but do Mirror readers agree?

BBC star Luisa Zissman has said that Dubai is safer than the UK, despite escalating tensions in the Middle East. The former Apprentice star took to Instagram with her opinions.

Luisa first reposted a video that slammed people for joking about the conflict and “celebrating fear”. The video said people had “lost their humanity” for making fun of people who had gone to Dubai, many of whom are well-off influencers and celebs. Underneath the video, Luisa wrote: “The English people living in England reactions and comments to us Brits living in Dubai has reminded me exactly why I left England to move here.

“It’s really sad what’s currently happening in Dubai, but trust me the UK is a worse state.” She added a crying with laughter emoji following by an emoji covering its face.

Luisa has been sharing a few updates from Dubai since the USA and Israel launched strikes on Iran. The strikes saw a huge escalation in conflict in the region, as Iran responded by attacking various locations across the Middle East, including in the United Arab Emirates, where Dubai is.

The BBC star previously shared that she was “keeping the kids entertained and indoors” by baking with them. She added that they wanted to go outside and tried to go to the park, but “literally as we went to step foot out the door we heard two massive bangs that shook the house”.

“We retreated and then heard another two. So now movie time in the basement,” she continued. Luisa went on to say that it was “so surreal and scary” but that she has “faith that UAE defence will keep us all safe”.

A number of famous faces have moved to Dubai and over the yers and decided to stay there despite the ongoing conflict. The British Embassy in Dubai has advised Brits against all but essential travel to the UAE and urged those still in the country to register their presence. They have also released an official warning, telling people to “shelter in place”.

Via X, they added: “Move indoors and remain inside. Follow the instructions of the local authorities. You should stay indoors or go to the nearest safe building. Stay away from windows. An interior stairwell or a room with as few windows as possible to offer additional protection.”

However, some stars have used social media to show they are continuing to live their lives as normal. Arabella Chi posted a photo to Instagram of herself and her son eating by a swimming pool, and of her date night with Billy Henty, which was rescheduled from a few nights before, due to the missile strikes.

Though the UK are currently joining the strikes on Iran, the UK are sending additional fighter jets to Qatar and Defence Secretary John Healey has refused to rule out British forces getting drawn into a war.

He told Mirror during a visit to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus: “It is the nature of conflict that you never know what might develop and we are hugely strengthening our defences.”
