Did Kristi Noem’s Extramarital Affair Rumours Lead To Her Daughter, Kassidy Losing Her Job?

Kristi Noem was fired from her role as Secretary of Homeland Security after her extramarital affair with Corey Lewandowski was widely discussed. However, 2025 was the year when Kristi’s reputation was damaged due to the affair buzz and reports that claimed she might be heading for divorce from her husband, Byron Neom. But as per reports, Kristi Noem’s influence also affected her daughter’s career.

It was in 2021, when Kristi Noem was accused of using her influence to help her daughter get a real estate appraiser license. The scandal blew out of proportion, leading her daughter to abandon her job entirely. It is worth noting that in July 2020, the former executive director of the South Dakota Appraiser Certification Program, Sherry Bren, met with Noem and her daughter, Kassidy Peters. She was in the process of applying to become a state-certified real estate appraiser. Brean claimed that Kassidy’s application had serious deficiencies, but after applying twice, she was given a third chance to address and correct them. However, an applicator is given only two opportunities. 

After four months, Kassidy’s license was approved, and in 2021, there was an inquiry to know if Noem used her influence to give her daughter a license. However, this led Kassidy to quit real estate. The inquiry caused irreparable damage to her dream. In a letter, Kassidy shared her feelings and how her business was finished. She said:

“I’m angry and I can acknowledge that this has successfully destroyed my business. My business is finished, and the years I spent working to become licensed amount to nothing. So, I’ve decided that I will no longer accept new appraisal orders and will wrap up the few pending orders I do have.”

As per reports, there was enough evidence against Kristi, but no action was taken. Meanwhile, Noem’s daughter shared that she was aware that she would always be in the public eye due to her mother’s job. So, she had two choices: either to get hurt by the fallout or not. 

Kristi Noem’s recent affair scandal

It was in 2023 when rumours about Kristi’s alleged affair made headlines. It all started after rumours around her personal life surfaced in the media that she was in an alleged extramarital affair with political strategist Corey Lewandowski. It is worth mentioning that Corey was a longtime ally of the U.S. President. However, they both have kept denying the claims and called it a false and fabricated political move to demean them. 

As per the New York Post, Kristi and Corey were found making out at a hotel bar during the 2021 Conservative Political Action Confrence in Orlando. Another source claimed that he saw Noem sitting on Corey’s lap at Trump’s famous Mar-a-Lago in December 2020.

Of late, the rumours about Kristi’s affair reignited after the same was openly discussed during a house’s judicial committee hearing. Kristi was directly asked about her rumoured affair with Lewandowski. However, Kristi slammed them and called it a ‘tabloid garbage’.
